Mindirose Pozzolano shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Mindirose , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me is a full day. I start working 9-5, spend time with my family & boyfriend, then tackle orders for Truly.Denim
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Mindi Pozzolano and I’m the owner of Truly.Denim. During Covid I started hand-painting denim jackets for a few friends and that’s how Truly.Denim was born. Little by little I learned more and was able to grow my business into more than just denim jackets, but into a unique custom service that caters to the customers needs. Making every order uniquely tailored for you.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mom. Like every mom, my mom has a unique ability to see my potential and strengths, sometimes even before I recognize those qualities in myself. She always gives me the support & confidence I need to always put my best foot forward in everything I do.
She is my biggest cheerleader and bestfriend. She always guides me to pursue my dreams and that no dream is impossible. Thank you mom in believing in me and teaching me to be a resilient, kind and passionate. I hope I am making you proud and can be even half the woman you are.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There has been many instances in my life where I have wanted to give up.
When my high school closed my sophomore year and I had to start in a new high school my junior year. Or the time when a global pandemic hit my senior year of high school & early college years. Late nights taking night courses and working 2 jobs.
All of these challenges were tests in my life. I would never be where I am today or the person I am had I given up when times got hard. Which makes every success in my life so much more rewarding.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Those closest to me know that family is everything to me. I believe the memories you create with loved ones are priceless, far outweighing any material possession you can get.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
I think I could! Growing up as a competitive dancer I was always compared to the dancer next to me. I was always taught to be better than the person I was yesterday not my peers. And that is something I live by and use regularly. Plus, knowing I’ve put in my best effort gives me a sense of pride and accomplishment! I find that doing my best work is fulfilling in itself, regardless of whether I get praise for it.
