MurieL of Los Angeles on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with MurieL and have shared our conversation below.

MurieL, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Recently i have been given the news i am a Semi-Finalist of this program named ” Mexico Canta “
out of 15,000 people i have been chosen to sing in Mexico on National TV infront of celebrity judges and Mexico’s President . this is actually something im looking forward to .

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Muriel, a passionate independent artist blending Reggaetón, Indie Cumbia, and heartfelt storytelling into powerful, genre-defying music. My work is rooted in my culture, spirituality, and lived experiences—I sing not just to entertain, but to connect, heal, and uplift.

As a woman navigating the music industry on my own terms, I’ve built a brand that celebrates authenticity, resilience, and soulful expression. From performing on international stages to writing songs that speak to love, truth, and empowerment, I’m currently working on a series of releases that reflect my evolution as both an artist and a woman.

I’m here to represent those who believe in themselves, their roots, and their purpose

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
i believe my mom saw who i was before i fully believed into myself or my own power in what i do , she truly pushes me into believing in my self

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If i could tell my youngest self something kind it would be be yourself and don’t be afraid , you got this and i love you.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
A belief i am committed to is that faith can move mountains and the impossible is possible while you work and stay dedicated to whatever it is you’re wanting to do .

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
What story i hope people say about me while im gone would be that i gave my all and i truly cared and did what i do with love.
