We were lucky to catch up with Aanchal Gupta recently and have shared our conversation below.
Aanchal, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Panky Doodle is built on the concept that it’s called a birth-DAY because celebrations should start as soon as the DAY starts. Behind Panky Doodle is a mom-daughter duo – Aanchal and Ivanka. I bring the love, warmth, and flavors that make a good meal, and our 10-year-old manager IVANKA brings the smile and excitement that started it all. The end result is a hearty FUN breakfast that comes bundled with the memories and creates big smiles.
I started making fun-shaped pancakes for Ivanka when she turned 4, and the expression on her face always left my heart asking for more. During the pandemic 2020 when the whole world was at a standstill, kids at home and in virtual learning. I knew parents were looking for a way to bring some unique, fun, home-delivered smiles that were easy and flavorful. Hence PANKY DOODLE was born.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
All modesty, growing up, I was really really good at tracing anything I laid eyes on. I follow the same process here. As Panky Doodle is a combination of heat and art. The pancake batters need to cook, and colored batters need to added precisely at the right time. It gets better with practice and time, but until we make the final flip, we still don’t know how the actual final product will turn out. It’s a euphoric moment every single time I turn the custom art Pancake over, and then my daughter evaluates it for color and the actual character resemblance. She is hard to please, so I have to work extra hard.
At Panky doodle, we strive to bring your or your family’s latest character crush onto your morning table through custom art pancakes that are delivered right to your home any day, every day. We even do Live pancake art show, where kids can see and order on-demand characters. The event’s music gets taken over by oohh and aahs of kids looking at the final reveal of the pancake. It’s the best sound ever! We want every family and kid to experience our fun, delicious pancakes. We have various flour options to choose from and take pride in our “HAPPY TUMMY PROMISE,” in which we offer Gluten-free, Vegan, Paleo, Keto, Eggless, and Chocolate Chip pancakes, to name a few. We even have the option for parents to choose organic vegetable/ fruit extracted food colors if they don’t want the regular food colors, just giving them the peace of mind of healthy and fun food choices for their family.
Delivering at home is an integral part of our business as we wanted parents to have an easy way to start the celebrations right at DAYBREAK. Our FUN PANCAKES are delivered right to the customers’ home beginning as early as 5:30 am and as late as 9:30 pm. We delivered our very first custom art cake orders on May 23rd, 2020, so we have been in business for little under 2 years. To this date, we have flipped some approximately 20000 pancakes, and we will keep flipping more. We recently partnered with WALMART go local to make our local deliveries an even better experience for our customers.
In 2021, we started offering our PANCAKE ART- LIVE, for parents and families to see us making and creating these fun food/catering alternative right in front of them. Live FOOD station and a SHOW all in ONE!
We will soon be featured on walmart.com and customers can order their fun meal to be delivered directly through WALMART.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three most important qualities that were most impactful in our journey would have to be – DREAM, WORK , GROW.
If you have an idea, dream/ manifest and plan until you can bring it to fruition. Work towards 1 goal everyday and get that done no matter what. (Baby steps until your wings can carry you off ). Growth, new avenues, uncharted waters night be scary but once you’re on the path, it will get easy and the ball will start rolling.
All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
We have faced problems that are actually good to have. We have received so much support and love from cities and places far and wide. We have orders coming in from Chicago, New York, Seattle areas, and we are working towards establishing a cold supply chain, so we can reach and deliver quality pancakes to those customers. So that is one obstacle we are trying to overcome at the moment.
