Meet Aatiyah Henry-Ramirez

We were lucky to catch up with Aatiyah Henry-Ramirez recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Aatiyah, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I founded No. 1 Lash Co. with the intention of empowering women. I am passionate about all things beauty & enjoy creating beautiful lash sets that accentuate my clients eyes and make them feel confident.

As a former Track & Field athlete being able to compete at the collegiate level sculpted my mindset tremendously. I always knew the importance of discipline, hard work & consistency. As my years on the track came to an end after college, I was able to apply the same driving force into my business.

Currently based in Dallas, Tx I gained several years of lashing experience in Fayetteville, Arkansas where I attended the University of Arkansas & where my business began + quickly flourished known as LasheddOut

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
As my books stay filled with amazing clients in both Dallas, Tx & Fayetteville Arkansas, I’m now happy to offer fellow lash artist products, tools, techniques and education along their journey with the help of No. 1 Lash Co. in hopes of helping artist effortlessly catapult their careers in the right direction.

Www.no1lashco.com offers hand tested premium products established to make life easier for both lash technician & clients.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Being self motivated is a necessary quality for any entrepreneur, especially in the beauty industry. Most cases you aren’t going to have a ton of fans or followers of your work unless you tirelessly work at your craft.

The want to succeed is another quality I believe anyone in beauty industry needs in order to to successfully establish a positive name for themselves as well as gaining knowledge. Always being willing to grow.

And in the lash industry acquiring patiences is an extremely important skill too obtain. Often times things do not happen how we’d imagine as lash technicians. But knowing how to take a breath and find the best resolve typically brings about the best outcome. Lashing isn’t a one size fits all approach, but a custom tailored approach for the best results.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
I honestly love a client who knows what she wants! Haha, I often refer to them as my divas, but typically make my job much smoother. Most lash technicians shy away from clients that they consider “picky,” but I welcome them!

Clients that know what they want are typically willing to not only pay for the service that they desire, but make my job easier by being specific with what they are looking for.

I love to execute a lash style based on my professional opinion & emphasizing what the clients main objective is.

Most of my clientele is very particular to what they fancy, and know that I have exactly what they are looking for while maximizing comfort and retention.
