Meet Alexandria Smith

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Alexandria Smith a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alexandria, sincerely appreciate your selflessness in agreeing to discuss your mental health journey and how you overcame and persisted despite the challenges. Please share with our readers how you overcame. For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.
Despite encountering challenges associated with receiving a bipolar disorder diagnosis early in adulthood, my journey has been characterized by resilience and a firm dedication to self-care. Through therapy, medication, and a supportive network, I’ve learned to navigate the ups and downs with grace and determination. Finding purpose in advocating for women’s wellness and sharing my story has been instrumental in my journey towards healing and empowerment.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
As someone who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age of 21, my journey with mental health has been both challenging and transformative. This pivotal moment ignited a passion within me to understand and educate myself about mental illness, particularly bipolar disorder. Through years of personal research, therapy, and self-reflection, I’ve become deeply knowledgeable about managing my own mental wellness journey.

Now, as a Women’s Wellness Advocate & Educator and founder of Mom, Wife, Worship Life, I’m dedicated to sharing my experiences and insights with other women who may be facing similar struggles. My goal is to destigmatize mental illness and empower individuals to prioritize their mental health. Through open dialogue and accessible resources, I aim to create a supportive community where women can find strength and resilience in their journey towards holistic wellness.

Additionally, I’m thrilled to announce the launch of “Transform and Thrive with Alex”, a virtual mentorship program designed to support moms and wives on their path to holistic wellness. This unique initiative, launching on Mother’s Day, offers a tailored approach to self-care, providing participants with tools and guidance to nurture their mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. I invite you to join me on this transformative journey as we prioritize self-care and embrace the beauty of thriving, not just surviving, in our roles as mothers and wives.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reflecting on my journey, three qualities that have been impactful are resilience, faith, and self-awareness. Embracing challenges as opportunities for growth, leaning on my faith for strength, and cultivating self-awareness have been essential in navigating life’s complexities. My advice for those early in their journey is to embrace authenticity, seek support, and remain open to learning and evolving along the way.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
Over the past 12 months, my biggest area of growth has been in cultivating a positive and resilient mindset. Despite facing unforeseen challenges, I’ve learned to approach adversity with grace and optimism, focusing on solutions rather than obstacles. Through mindfulness practices, gratitude, and self-reflection, I’ve transformed setbacks into opportunities for personal and professional growth, ultimately deepening my resilience and inner strength.
