Meet Alexus Pittman

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alexus Pittman. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alexus below.

Hi Alexus , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I developed a strong sense of confidence in life because I learned early that if you don’t believe in yourself nobody will. I used to get teased and bullied a lot as a child so when I grew up I was determined that nobody could dim my light unless I allow it and that would never happen again. Now wherever I go I make my presence known and I make sure my light shines bright. You will remember my name, my face, what I represent and so much more. I just have that effect on the world around me.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Okay so my name is Alexus, my nick name is Lex. People come to me for so many things because they know I just about do it all. I can cook and I have a catering company, I make candles, body butters, soaps, oils, herbal teas and concoctions to help heal the body, I also am a graphic designer and I can create websites, I also write poetry, I sing, I write music, I’m working on releasing several books, like I could really go on and on forever im just one of those people you can say is a “Jack of all trades”. I’m currently working on rebranding two of my businesses known as Lexcy’s Cuisines and Handspun Delights. I feel like I’m just long over due for a drastic change and a new look when it comes to my businesses. So stay tuned to see what I have in store.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
My three most important skills, qualities and knowledge for me is. 1. Being Teachable. In order for me to learn how to do so many things I had to learn from those around me I would sit in spaces where others showed their talents and they would teach me all kinds of wonderful things this is how I learned so many amazing things throughout the years. I can say I’m proud to be a teachable person. Now people come to me for advice on just about everything. 2. Commitment. In order for me to reach success I had to be committed to what I was working on no matter what. Sometimes things get hard. Challenges arise. Obstacles come our way but when you commit yourself to your goals nothing can stop you. 3. Authenticity. For me being authentic and original is what I stand for. You can not make it anywhere in life doing things the same way as everyone else. You have to create your own lane in some way so that you stand out and create a name, look, style for yourself. These are three important things that have changed my life for the better.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes! Absolutely. I have always been looking for others to collaborate with because I believe “Everybody can eat” especially when we all stick together. There should be no competition in the business world because there is something out here for everybody. I never truly believed in being greedy and not sharing resources or wanting it all for myself. Sharing is caring and collaboration is a must. I know plenty of dope entrepreneurs I can’t wait to do events with and have a marvelous experience with. This is one of my divine dreams and I know I can make it come true very soon just you wait.
