We recently connected with Alyson Scholz and have shared our conversation below.
Alyson, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I have had a job since the day I could drive & prior to that I was that neighborhood girl that would walk around door to door selling whatever fundraiser my school was supporting. My parents were both extremely hard workers, especially my mom leading as a great example while growing up. In high school, I thought running cross country would be a good idea. After a week I quickly regretted my decision. I wanted to quiet so bad, it was an individual sport so I didn’t see what was wrong with quitting. My mom would not let me quit, she would tell me you signed up, you have to finish the season. While in the moment I might have not realized the lesson she was trying to teach me, looking back this was a prime lesson that built my work ethic.
Most of the time, I worked multiple jobs. I never wanted to ask my parents for money and knew I liked “nice” things. I bought my own house at the age of 22. My full time job wasn’t cutting it so I got a job at the local tanning salon for extra money. Quickly realized I wanted more than that so I started waiting tables and bartending at Steelefish Grille. I stumbled across permanent jewelry in Nashville while on my friends bachelorette. After months and months of researching, debating & practice I decided to start my own business.
Over the last 8 months, I have learned what it means to be a business owner. If you don’t work, the business doesn’t run. There is so much background work in a business that people don’t realize. You have to want it more than everyone else.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am the owner of Endlessly linked permanent jewelry. Permanent Jewelry is custom, clasp-less, tarnish resistant jewelry.
Permanent jewelry is sometimes referred to as “forever jewelry” many people come to events with their best friends, sisters, mother, daughter or girlfriend/boyfriend for a special experience. We offer connectors/ charms with initials or birthstones to truly make your bracelet, anklet or necklace personalized.
We offer events at weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, wineries, breweries, boutiques, coffee shops, school events… just about everywhere!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Modernizing, Keeping up with the latest trendy’s is super important to not fall behind. Networking, It’s all about who you know and what you know. If your don’t know the business owner you’re trying to partner with find someone that does to get in contact!
Work Ethic, nothing easy comes easy. It’s not “luck” that makes people successful its the work they put in behind the sene.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Currently Endlessly Linked does not have a permanent store front. We run off of pop up events. This means we travel to different locations for each event. I am always looking for new businesses to hold pop up events. This is beneficial to the business because I bring customers into the store for permanent jewelry at the same time they can shop & learn about your business you offer! Pop up events are typically 3-4 hours long & I bring everything needed!
