Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alyssa Delone. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alyssa, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I learned/ found my purpose through a corporate layoff. It blind sided me, however it was one of my biggest blessings. It allowed me to slow down and revisit my desire to work in the beauty industry. I’ve always enjoyed how beauty services boost your confidence. With my savings, I invested in myself by pursuing my esthetician license.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Alyssa and I’m a licensed esthetician. I specialize in Skincare, Lash Extensions and Body waxing. What I find most special about my profession is the safe space I’m able to provide my clients, allowing them the ability to relax and release the day to day stressors of life.
I love educating my clients and introducing them to self-care and the importance of putting themselves first. Maintaining self-care can improve both your physical & mental health. It helps to manage stress levels, lower your risk of illness and increase your energy levels. Be mindful of your own needs so that you can better support the people around you.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three skills I’ve found to be most impactful on my journey is consistency, persistence, and continuous education. These skills have helped me continue to push forward as a small business owner and to unlock new skills/ levels within myself.
To any up and coming estheticians I encourage you to keep going! Sharpen your skills by seeking advance/ additional trainings. Never give up on yourself or your dreams. The road to success takes intentional work. I’m not where I ultimately want to be but I am definitely staying on this path until I get there! Push yourself, write the vision and then chase it.
