Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Amanda Behl. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Amanda, so happy to have you with us today and there is so much we want to ask you about. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others developed certain skills or qualities that we are struggling with can be helpful. Along those lines, we’d love to hear from you about how you developed your ability to take risk?
Making decisions involving risk often involves assessing potential outcomes, weighing probabilities, and considering the consequences. In essence, taking any risk, rests on the decisions and choices you make and understaning that all decisions have positive or negative outcomes.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
We are a local beverage company that does local kombucha fermenting, tepache, and water kefir.
In addition to our health conscious drinks, we also do cold brew coffee and Nitro Tea on Tap. The idea behind our Nitro Teas is that we get our premium brewed Tea and infuse it with Nitrogen gas. Infusing our tea gives us a creamy, smooth taste, removes that bitterness and adds a natural sweetness without adding all that additional sugar.
We are excited as we are currently in the research and development phases of our hard kombucha, meaning a high alcohol content booch. That is the current project we’re working on.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three most important qualities, skills, and/or areas of knowledge I think were crucial for me were adaptability, critical thinking, and effective communication. These qualities can help navigate diverse challenges and foster success in various aspects of life.
These three areas are going to clearly vary depending on an individuals personal preferences, context, and goals. However, being adaptable to any situation is key because anything can change at the drop of a dime. You have to learn to navigate critically through situations, prepare for the unexpected, and be able to communicate efficiently throughout the entire process.
Developing these qualities/skills early on will help you run a small business smoothly because it will give you a better understanding of overall functionality.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My husband Jason, has been the most impactful in assisting me. Whether it be overcoming challenges or building and developing my skills, qualities, or knowledge. When we decided to take our journey of life together we not only knew it wasn’t going to be an easy one, but we knew we had to be there for each other.
Adapting to any change is never easy, and when you’re like me, a type A personality, who doesn’t do well with change, he has been my calming voice, my foundation, and strength.
Running ideas by my husband whenever I’m unsure of something has provided me with not only a different outlook, but with a different perspective as well.
Being able to communicate effectively on various levels not just as husband and wife key, because he can provide me additional insight.
Jason has always pushed me to try, to not give up, and to continue trying until I succeed. He’ll look at me and too often says….you know what you have to do right! It’s that statement alone that indicates take that risk, you got this!
