Meet Amanda Miceli

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Amanda Miceli. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Amanda, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
A huge part of where I get my work ethic from is a huge shout out to the Midwest. After living in the Midwest for over 20 years and then living in Florida for a while and getting to continue to travel to a lot of different places and see the way people interact and how customer service is, the Midwest is a different beast and I think anybody who’s been in the Midwest or lives in the Midwest can attest to the fact that there are hard-working people up here and I think it’s just instilled within the community and the environment from a young age. There’s a hard work ethic up here and another huge part of my work ethic is my parents. They had me having a job since I could have a job which was 14 in the state of Wisconsin. From a very young age, I had to pay for a lot of my own things and I’m very glad that my parents had me do that. My family was never poor but they were never rich either so I was always working my ass off to get to where I wanted. I bought all of my cars, I paid for my whole college out of pocket, I’ve bought everything myself and I think paying for all of those things on your own instills a work ethic like no other, because you are the one providing all of those things for yourself. I have consistently always worked 3 jobs my whole working career, up until 2023, which was really weird for me at first because I felt I wasn’t doing enough. I was / am running a whole marketing agency, while still being a human being, and I thought I wasn’t doing enough? Ha. So yeah, I would definitely give credit to my work ethic through being raised by some great parents in the Midwest, and also working very hard from a young age to pave my own way.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
So definitely a big question that I have a lot of answers to. I am super excited for this new year because this is the first year that I actually sat down and I was able to reflect on a previous year of business and plan for the year as a whole and in quarters / months, which really helped my overall marketing strategy. We also launched a new website in January 2024 which was super exciting to start the year off fresh! Next exciting thing is something I dont want to share tooo much just because I’m not somebody that likes to give too much information before it’s actually all official but we are going to be starting a branding seminar series and it is going to be a ticketed event that we are pushing out to start in the Green Bay Wisconsin area because I saw a huge Gap in the market that we are able to fill that there’s so many people who are going through a brand identity crisis. They are either trying to start a business or they are have already been in business for a while and they have a really awesome talent or an idea or a service or whatever they may offer and they are just struggling to take it to the next step of business because it’s not branded beautifully and it’s a business not a brand and there’s a huge difference and I really love teaching people about that difference because not everybody realizes it and it is truly the key to business. Having that clear brand of exactly who you are, what you do, why you do it, and why people should care, logos, colors, fonts, and so much more that creates brand recognition for people. It’s incredible what can happen, for example take Nike or Adidas, Nike you see a Nike swish, they don’t even have to have the word Nike and you see that swish and you know you just do it. They’ve created that brand recognition for people to know who they are, and what they do, and that is the next step to business if you’re looking to scale or just trying to have that really unique beautiful but different business you need to go through that branding process. Within the past few months we had been offering a new branding service that has just taken off. We did multiple giveaways with it and then we’re also having multiple new clients at the moment for it and it is a whole guide that instead of just you know this is my brand and then every time you need to sign on a new employee or you have a marketing agency do something for you you’re scrambling around like oh I don’t know where my colors are, I don’t know where my logos are, this guide has everything in one. It’s a booklet that you’re gonna keep on your computer wherever you’re gonna keep it and this guide is going to keep everything anyone needs to know about your brand in an organized and aesthetically designed booklet. So that’s a huge part of the branding series and seminars that we’re gonna be doing! It’s gonna be an awesome networking event to be in the community and also just a fun interactive way to enjoy the evening and learn more about a brand and how to take your business to that next step. Another thing we are excited for is for our second BOLD birthday, we are going to be hosting a fashion show! Fashion is a huge part of who we are, especially personally fashion is everything to me as I believe it is the ultimate way to express yourself and be your most authentic self, which is a huge piece of who BOLD is. I was originally going to start a clothing company before I start my marketing company and I realize there’s a way that I can combine everything. We attend fashion weeks every year and we love working with fashionable brands. But back to the fashion show, we’re gonna be hosting a fashion show for our second birthday and it’s gonna have three local businesses We are also cooking up something as well around that so those are some big exciting things coming up in the business that were super excited to showcase to everybody as we keep the ball rolling with everything!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Just starting off being an artist was a huge skill for me. Just having that creative mind and I wanted to be an entrepreneur within my art and quickly realized that was not the most lucrative way to go, that there was better ways that I could solve problems in the world with my creativity. Another skill or tool is reading a lot of different books and podcasts and just learning from the people who I’ve been doing it first. Whether it’s books on marketing itself for branding or color design or any of those types of things. Also books of how to take care of your mind in your brain and how to take care of yourself which plays in every part of life but especially being a entrepreneur because you have to have certain routines and processes to be able to be successful and just learning from people who have done it before. And then advice that I would give people who are trying to step into any realm or develop these skills, I would definitely say find a mentor. Take advantage of the fact that you don’t have a bunch of experience and people are willing to help. The right people are willing to help if you ask, they will teach you things and you can get experience in return you know you might not get paid in money but you’ll get paid in experience and having somebody who will teach you the ways of it is huge. I was blessed when I first started that somebody taught me a lot of things and how to navigate that world and you know even now I get to pass that on to other people and that’s a really cool thing and I wish more people would reach out to me and ask for opportunities like that. I’m more than willing to give it because I was once that young person and I still am who just wants to learn from other people and is seeking that. It’s sad when people are not willing to extend a helping hand because you know there’s business for everybody, this isn’t a competition this is about community. So just ask, the worst that someone can do is say no.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
An ideal client for us would be somebody who has been in business for a little bit but they’re at a point that they’re ready to take their business to the next level that scalable step and they don’t really know how to do it, they don’t know how to make their business a brand and transition from that so we would really love to go in with what they already have and what they’ve experienced, and they have a clear vision for what they want for the next step but they’re not gonna be the ones to do it. They need somebody to come in and design, they need somebody to come in and just make their company come together with a brand guide and actually organize their mission and goals for the year and have it all come together in marketing. They would be a luxury, fashionable business that we can brand and continue to do social media management and other marketing tasks to make their whole brand come together and be consistent on all levels. And someone who understands the value of what they are investing in. Branding is the life and back bone of your business. It is worth every penny.
