Meet Amie Easton

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Amie Easton. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Amie, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
As artists we always struggle with this in a physical form, but creativity is always alive in some form. Sometimes switching out the form in which we need to create. Most commonly, we experience burnout in a particular medium of expression, so I find changing the medium in which I express creativity, ie; cooking, photography, painting, a very successful way in keeping that creative mind sharp and motivated.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I have been artsy since I can remember. From painting garbage cans in high school to running my little tattoo parlour in the world-renowned ski resort, Sun Peaks BC. Nothing seems to be safe when it comes to my need to create.

Born and raised in Northern BC, Prince George, my family lineage stems from Watson Lake Yukon, where I am proudly part of the Kaska Dena Nation of Liard River.

I could not be more thankful to be creating custom tattoos in my own shop JuggerBean.

I thoroughly enjoy most requests but prioritize drawing customs for my clients in neotraditional, whip shading, realism, cartoon, pop-culture and illustrated style.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Dedication, perseverance and self-worth are the qualities I am currently focusing on. Overall, healthy boundaries with clients and people can regularly be a struggle. Implementing these early on when starting a business or project is key to maintaining a positive experience for all involved in the creative process.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
Biggest area of growth in the last 12 months has been putting myself and my personal time to grow first. Applying a few more boundaries to ensure personal time has been essential in my creative process.
