Hi Ana, so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?
I can say that my photography business is my biggest professional success! I moved to Boston in 2013 and started my business from scratch with no network or roots here. Everything I have learnt on the way has been through trial and error. I have been and still wearing so many hats. I have learnt about marketing, social media, business strategy and development, financial administration, and other skills not photography related to make my business thriving. So yes, I am successful in what I do because I love it and do my best!

Hello! My name is Ana I. Viana and I am the owner and main photographer at Lovely Pictures Studio. I love capturing spontaneous, natural and candid moments with all the details as they are in REAL LIFE. Eternalizing beautiful experiences through photography is my purpose; memories that evoke a feeling so strong, it brings you back to that snapshot in time is my vision; captivating photographs that speak for themselves is my mission.
I’m a big fan of light, so naturally, I’m drawn to a bright and colorful style of photographs.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Charisma, good communication, and constancy. Advise: don’t give up! A business doesn’t grow from 0 to 100 in 30 days or 6 months 0r even 1 year. It takes persistency and hard-work. The reward requires sacrifice.
