Meet Anaili Galindo

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Anaili Galindo a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Anaili , we are so deeply grateful to you for opening up about your journey with mental health in the hops that it can help someone who might be going through something similar. Can you talk to us about your mental health journey and how you overcame or persisted despite any issues? For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.
I’m a very privileged girl… I have the support of my family and I have the opportunity to take care of my mental health with a psychologist and psychiatrist, I believe in something bigger than us (god and the universe) and they’re always by my side. But also, I’m trying to be less pessimistic and mean to myself (that it’s not as easy as it sounds sometimes, we’re our toughest judge). For example: when something didn’t go as expected or just was really bad, and I feel overwhelmed and disappointed the “Why’s?”, “Why me?”, “I’m I unlucky?” I used to make them so often to: myself, to the universe, to god, to my mom, and my dog haha. & well, I don’t always have the answer, nor my mom… So, I tried to change the narrative, what’s the moral of the story? What taught me this? This happened because I’ll have a lection that it’s going to make me grow? Or I just need to take it with humor and say omg, another story for the book of my life…

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Hello readers, my name is Anaili (AKA Nani) and I’m 24 years old, I have a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, I’m Mexican, Leo, and I’m in love with sunsets, fashion, and travel. Now I’m back to the student role and cursing a diploma called: ‘The International Organizations Challenges, in the Contemporary International System.’ Our world is facing many challenges such as climate change, war, poverty, and hunger. We must address these issues and work towards finding solutions.

I’ve had microbusinesses and projects, with different approaches, through e-commerce; As well as campaigns against the cold, collection centers in companies, and upcycling bottle cap campaigns for the benefit of children with cancer. Also participated in literary circles, as staff in Model United Nations events, I have had the opportunity to participate in digital platforms for entertainment projects, tourism projects in the medical area, and ecotourism. As well as working in digital media in front of and behind the cameras, I also love acting and also, I’ve worked as a UGC and content creator on social networks.

At present, I’m working on myself to be a better human being spiritually, physique, and professionally. Sometimes I have my mental breakdowns or ‘the twenties crisis’, and it’s so valid. In the social media world, it’s easier to forget that: we’re not (and we do not need to be) perfect, no one is always at their peak. I like to communicate some real stuff, life hacks, and some crazy daily stories…
Have you ever felt like you’re living in automatic? How many times in your day you are consciously breathing? just living in the present time, how often do you take your time to genuinely thanks and appreciate ‘the moment’?. You need to hear your body and your soul, not normalize the toxic productivity, you’re not a machine. Being better is an all-day work. And it’s fine if one day you only want to stay in your bed, cry or just escape from the ordinary, I mean, actually I think is healthy.

I love the humanitarian area. Also, I’m interested in international law and politics area. I really enjoy create content on social media, i would love someday be part of the cast and be on the screen, on a serie, movie or tv proyect. Also I expect my career can help to improve: the quality life of people with a formal sustainable basis, and if it’s not will be thanks like for a formal system… that I could impact their soul or mindset, add a little bit of love, hope, good vibes, and conveying the desire to work for a continuous improvement and a better world for us and the next generations.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Resilience, my communication skills, and being loyal to my values.

Advice:
– Observe and recognize your soft and hard skills.
– Choose wisely your battles (protect your energy, be intelligent, there are a lot of types of intelligence, and sometimes emotional intelligence wins over others)
– Be humble
– Compromise with your goals
– Be yourself, that’s your superpower ( don’t let the haters, envious or people who feel threatened by your ability snatch your essence or dream).

And last but no least sometimes this world works weirdly, and sometimes things don’t turn out the way you expected, in the timeline you imagined, but trust the process & understand that sometimes stop is also moving forward

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Certainly! I would be delighted to. My interests include fashion, acting, lifestyle, travel, food, gym tips, learning random facts about various topics, and creating content for social media. I am aware that there is still so much for me to learn. So, if you share any of these interests, feel free to reach out to me via Instagram DM at @postbynani or email.
