We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Anasiah Clark . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Anasiah below.
Anasiah , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from family. I come from a hard working family on both sides that will always work and continue to do whatever they need to do to get things done. I watched it as a young girl, and I am also the same way now. I have developed a great work ethic.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a lip care & skin care maker. The most exciting apart about it is making every last one of our customers happy. The most exciting thing about what is do is being about to run this business with my 8 year old daughter while also being able to teach her all about entrepreneurship. My brand simply focuses on helping others with their lip care as far as lip glosses, lip scrubs, lip oils, and chap stick. Skin care is also something that we work on as far as body butters, body scrubs, body oils, and room and linen sprays as well.
Recently we have launched new lip glosses to add to the collection as well, which is holographic lip gloss. We also plan on launching designer body butters as well. As far as events, we plan on participating in a few more pop up shops locally and may be able to attend events out of state as well. I have one excited surprise in the making as well… we will be collaborating with someone very special.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The first main skill I think was impactful on my journey would definitely be networking. The second skill would be marketing, and last but not least my last skill is communication.
The best advice is always communication, if you do not have communication it’s not going to go well. You have to be able to be a walking billboard for your business, so communicate with your customers as much as possible. Networking is also something that you should always do as well, get connections with other entrepreneurs and other small or big businesses. Networking can get you further than you know. Also market your products, post everyday and use as many platforms of social media as possible.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My idea client is someone that I can connect with while also educating them on my product while making a sale. I love when my customers are honest, for the most part I pretty much have a bond or some type of relationship with all of our customers. I like customers who also refer me to others, that post the product on social media after they purchase too.
