We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Andrea Johnson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Andrea, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Developing true confidence and self-esteem has been a journey of cultivating deep self-trust. I used to chase certainty, believing that if I could just learn enough, prove my competence, and control my circumstances, I’d feel confident. But this pursuit of what I call “circumstantial power” kept me in a perpetual cycle of anxiety and self-doubt.
It wasn’t until I shifted my focus to fostering “personal power” through self-trust that my confidence and self-esteem truly flourished. I’ve learned to:
1. Honor my intuition: Tuning into and acting on my inner wisdom, even when it’s challenging, has strengthened my trust in myself.
2. Keep promises to myself: Following through on my commitments, big and small, has shown me that I can rely on myself.
3. Make values-aligned decisions: Choosing authenticity and integrity, even when it’s hard, has deepened my trust in my judgment and path.
4. Extend myself compassion: Replacing self-judgment with understanding, especially in tough times, has allowed me to maintain faith in myself.
5. Reflect on my resilience: Remembering how I’ve overcome obstacles in the past has bolstered my trust in my ability to handle whatever arises.
6. Surround myself with trustworthy people: Receiving support and encouragement from reliable others has helped me internalize a more trusting view of myself.
7. Engage in practices that deepen self-connection: Journaling, meditation, time in nature – anything that nurtures my relationship with myself has enhanced my self-trust.
As I’ve strengthened this muscle of self-trust, I’ve found a deep inner steadiness that allows me to move through uncertainty with confidence and grace. I trust myself to handle whatever comes my way, to make choices aligned with my truth, and to always have my own back.
This inner foundation of self-trust has been truly transformative – it’s shifted how I show up in my life and work, how I relate to challenges, and how I see myself. Hard days still happen, but I now have an unshakable faith in myself to navigate them. Cultivating this self-trust has been the most important inner work of my life – it’s given me the genuine confidence and self-worth I was seeking all along.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
With over twelve years refining my craft as a Licensed Therapist and master of the nervous system, I am dedicated to empowering ambitious women to reclaim their authentic, sovereign selves.
Through a psychology-backed methodology exquisitely tailored to the complexity and sensitivities of the striving feminine psyche, I midwife rapid yet organic shifts – my clients blossom into their fullest expression and step into their next-level identity with newfound ease and grace.
My brand, House of Her, fosters this next-level identity breakthrough, and catapults women to fearlessly mine their deepest selves and emerge renewed through her terrain-shifting work.
Stepping into “Big H Her,” the fully liberated and empowered woman, is a return to the wholeness of your original design and a reclamation of your personal power.
She is the one who leads herself, trusts herself, and is courageous in her expression. She understands her emotions are not a burden, rather the art she paints the canvas of each day with.
She fully owns her story, shattering judgment, guilt, and shame with tenderness and reverence for the “little h her” that got her to this point. Now she is forging a pathway forward in which she walks with purpose and is held by her vision.
While others are busy taking the edge off, she lives with the edge on, living as the woman who happens TO life, not the other way around.
Chains are broken, masks are removed, and gone are the days in which she shows up as a version of herself simply to please others. She no longer partitions herself into carefully curated pieces, only revealing the ones deemed appropriate for the occasion. Instead, she is a walking, talking full embodiment of all that is Her.
When you embody Her, you’re taking a stand for liberation, healing the roots of your lineage and freeing generations to come.
House of Her, is a movement, a freedom revolution that is changing the world as we know it, and…
It all starts with Her.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Resilience and Perseverance: Entrepreneurship is filled with challenges, setbacks, and failures. Successful entrepreneurs have the resilience to bounce back from adversity and the perseverance to keep pushing forward despite obstacles. I view failure as a learning opportunity and don’t give up easily. I always say, “She who can feel it all can have it all.” Instead of avoiding uncomfortable feelings of rejection, disappointment, and failure, become the woman who can hold it all. Nothing can stop you from this place.
Human-first Approach: I prioritize the needs, experiences, and well-being of the clients in my world above all else. This approach puts human considerations at the center of it all. I seek to deeply understand the needs, desires, challenges, and experiences of the people I serve, and I recognize that creating value for customers, employees, and communities can lead to long-term business success and sustainability.
Nervous System Regulation: The entrepreneurial journey can be a rollercoaster of highs and lows. I have strategies for managing stress, maintaining work-life balance, and taking care of my physical and mental health. I cultivate resilience through practices like exercise, mindfulness, and building a strong support network.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes, I am always interested in exploring potential collaborations! This makes my work even more fun!
I’m excited to explore possibilities to work together and combine our efforts to create something meaningful and impactful. Collaboration is a powerful way to leverage our collective strengths and perspectives.
