Meet Andrea Richardson

We recently connected with Andrea Richardson and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Andrea with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I get my work ethic from parents, who are baby boomers! *chuckling* By example, they’ve always taught me to: be on time (or early), do your best. For decades my parents worked at the same place together. They showed me consistency in work. I saw how they were rewarded at their gigs with greater responsibility and even greater pay.

As an entrepreneur, I’m influenced by Tiffany, the Budgetnista. She always talks about one should ‘be excellent (NOT from a capitalist standpoint) ‘ in their work. Meaning, they should do their own personal best to build great relationships with clients, be timely in sending emails, give as much as I can before we ask our target audience to buy our products / services.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’ve always been very spirited, a healer and a catalyst. Since 2016, I’ve also been a certified reiki practitioner & teacher. This happened after I received an Akashic record reading from my teacher. In 2021, I decided to support other folks learn about reiki & teach them to heal themselves and activate their communities.

Right now, I’m offering an attunement / training that supports those who want to certify as a reiki practitioner, too.

Back in 2019, after doing my birth doula training, I decided I wanted to support families through their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journeys. I started my business, Womb Care Womxn LLC here in Saint Louis that year. Since then, I’ve supported in births at the hospital. In 2021, I decided to take a full spectrum doula course with BADT. There I learned how to support families in their pregnancy and infant loss journey as they grieve. I’ve also supported womxn and femmes prioritize pleasure (pleasure doula). I’ve always know that I have the capacity (as a Scorpio Stellium) to support families through many experiences in life–full spectrum.

I’m always seeking new clients who want labor and postpartum support (in-person and virtual, too) . Families can email me.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
As an entrepreneur, I’m 1. creative, 2. resourceful and spirited. I recommend folks cultivate their creativity because it will help them have longevity in their work & bring them joy. Being resourceful supports you AND your community–It will help you to become fully resourced and pour those resources to those around you, as well. Being spirited helps one understand that all of the work you do isn’t just for you alone. That there are energies supporting you at all times. It’s a blessing.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’m always looking for other:

Black
queer
spirited
full bodied
urbanites
community-centered
pleasure-centered

people to collaborate with. We tend to deconalize all the work that we do. And that needs to happen.
