Meet Angel Lance

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Angel Lance. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Angel, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
My optimism, well, it’s rooted in the experiences that shaped me. You see, I’ve been through some incredibly tough times in my life—mental and physical abuse, depression, even battling with suicidal thoughts. But the thing is, I always knew deep down that I had to keep going, not just for myself but for my children.

Raising four kids on my own was never easy. It required a strength I didn’t know I had. Every day, I looked into their eyes and saw their potential, their dreams, and it reminded me that I couldn’t give up. I had to be their rock, their source of stability in a world that was anything but stable.

Overcoming those dark moments and emerging stronger made me believe in the resilience of the human spirit. It taught me that no matter how hard life gets, there’s always a glimmer of hope, a chance for things to get better.

Creating my own business, producing movies, acting, and pursuing a career as a music artist were dreams that kept me going. They allowed me to channel my pain and experiences into something creative and beautiful. Each achievement, no matter how small, fueled my optimism.

Education played a significant role too. Graduating with a bachelor’s degree was a symbol of my determination to better myself and provide a brighter future for my children. It proved that, with hard work and perseverance, I could overcome any obstacle.

And of course, finding love and creating a new home with my partner was like the icing on the cake. It showed me that life could be beautiful and filled with love after enduring so much pain.

My optimism comes from the belief that no matter how tough life gets, there’s always a way forward. It comes from the love and support of my family, the pursuit of my passions, and the knowledge that I’ve already conquered so much. I’ve learned to see the silver linings even in the darkest clouds, and that’s what keeps me optimistic about the future.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I wear many hats in my life, and each of them brings its own unique joy and fulfillment. I’m deeply passionate about the world of entertainment. I own my own business in the entertainment industry, where I produce movies and also have a career as an actress. The most exciting and special aspect of this work is the ability to tell stories that resonate with people, stories that can inspire, heal, and provoke thought. I’m also a music artist. Music has always been a powerful outlet for me to express my emotions and experiences. Whether I’m writing songs or performing on stage, music allows me to connect with people on a deeply emotional level. My career as a body contour specialist allows me to combine my passion for aesthetics and my desire to help people feel confident and comfortable in their own bodies. It’s a field that constantly evolves with advancements in technology, making it an exciting and dynamic area to work in. As for new developments, I’m excited to share that I’m graduating soon with a bachelor’s degree. This achievement has been a long time coming, and it represents my commitment to personal growth and education. It’s a testament to the idea that it’s never too late to pursue your dreams and continue learning.
My life is a tapestry of experiences, from motherhood to the world of entertainment, education and entrepreneurship.. What’s most exciting and special about it is the opportunity to inspire and connect with others through my work and personal journey. I want people to know that no matter what challenges life throws at you, you have the power to overcome them and create a beautiful life filled with love, passion, and achievement.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Reflecting on my journey, there were indeed three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that proved to be immensely impactful.

Resilience: Resilience is the ability to bounce back from adversity and keep moving forward. It was absolutely crucial in my journey, especially in overcoming mental and physical abuse, depression, and suicidal thoughts. My advice for those starting their journey is to develop resilience by learning to see setbacks as opportunities for growth. Understand that challenges are a part of life, and they don’t define your worth or potential. Seek support from friends, family, or professionals when needed, and never underestimate your inner strength.

Adaptability: Life is unpredictable, and being adaptable is key to navigating its twists and turns. My career journey involved various roles, from being a single parent to pursuing a career in entertainment and body contouring. To develop adaptability, be open to change and willing to learn new skills. Embrace challenges as opportunities to expand your knowledge and capabilities. Cultivate a growth mindset that sees every experience, whether positive or negative, as a chance to evolve and improve.

Passion and Purpose: Pursuing a career as a body contour specialist, an actress, and a music artist, among other things, was only possible because I was passionate about these endeavors. Finding your passion and purpose can be transformative. My advice is to explore your interests and discover what truly excites you. Once you identify your passions, set clear goals and take intentional steps toward them. Passion can fuel your determination, help you overcome obstacles, and keep you motivated even during the toughest times.

In addition to these three qualities, I’d also emphasize the importance of self-care and seeking support when needed. It’s okay to ask for help, whether it’s from friends, family, or professionals, and taking care of your mental and physical well-being is essential on any journey.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When I feel overwhelmed, which is something that can happen to anyone, I’ve developed several strategies and coping mechanisms over the years to help me regain my balance and perspective. Here are some of the things I do, and I hope they can be helpful to you or anyone else feeling overwhelmed:

Pause and Breathe: When overwhelmed, the first thing I do is pause and take a few deep breaths. Deep, slow breaths can help calm your nervous system and provide a moment of clarity.

Break Tasks into Smaller Steps: I break down whatever is overwhelming me into smaller, more manageable tasks. This makes things feel less daunting and allows me to focus on one thing at a time.

Prioritize: I prioritize my tasks and responsibilities. Not everything needs to be done immediately, so I identify what’s most urgent and important and tackle that first.

Time Management: Creating a schedule or to-do list helps me allocate my time effectively. Knowing what needs to be done and when can reduce stress.

Delegate: If possible, I delegate tasks to others. You don’t have to do everything on your own, and asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Self-Care: Taking care of my physical and mental well-being is crucial. Whether it’s a short walk, meditation, yoga, or simply taking a break to do something enjoyable, self-care is essential.

Talk to Someone: Sharing my feelings with a trusted friend, family member, or therapist can be incredibly therapeutic. Sometimes, just talking about what’s overwhelming me can provide relief and perspective.

Mindfulness and Meditation: Practicing mindfulness and meditation techniques has been a game-changer for me. It helps me stay grounded and focused on the present moment, reducing anxiety about the past or future.

Limit Information Overload: In today’s digital age, information overload can contribute to feeling overwhelmed. I limit my exposure to news and social media when I need a break from constant information and opinions.

Seek Professional Help: If overwhelming feelings persist and start affecting my daily life, I’m not hesitant to seek help from a mental health professional. They can provide valuable guidance and support.

Learn to Say No: Setting boundaries and knowing when to say no to additional commitments or responsibilities is important for managing overwhelm. It’s okay to prioritize your well-being.

Reflect and Adjust: I often reflect on the root causes of my overwhelm and make adjustments in my life or approach as needed. This might involve reevaluating goals, reorganizing my schedule, or reconsidering my priorities, and reminding myself that feeling overwhelmed is a natural human experience, and it’s okay to ask for help or take steps to manage it.
