Meet Angela Gentile

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Angela Gentile a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Angela, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
It definitely did NOT happen overnight, that’s for sure. Being confident and having a strong sense of self is really about knowing what you value, what your non negotiables and showing up every day making the hard choices and decisions that you need in order to align your choices to what you value.

We can pretend to be confident, by being loud and gregarious. By posting pictures on socials. But all of that is just simply topical.

Confidence is about being rooted an unshakable. That foundation and grounding comes when you know what you stand for and show up for it in ways that are uncomfortable. That’s really powerful and it’s the cornerstone of confidence.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
As a social disruptor, badass unicorn and founder of the Sweat Remix movement community, I am all about creating unprecedented change, in the world and with the people in my community. I help trailblazing millennials build confidence to make BIG, life changing decisions. I offer fitness and coaching and my signature #ZenRageHeal process so people can shed limiting beliefs bust out of the status quo and claim a live they love.

I help people free themselves from “should” and claim their truth through movement an embodiment practices, NLP coaching and remixing them with my signature #ZenRageHeal method. The movement community provides folks with an intentional approach to fitness with sustainable results to strengthen the body, shift their energy and transform their life.

This started because I was so unhappy in my own life, afraid to change and I have NO IDEA what I stood for, so I was easy to manipulate and since I always said yes, I was so incredibly burnt out by the time I was 34.

I quit my toxic public school job of almost 15 years, just up and quit after I suddenly lost my father. in 2015. That was the catalyst to start taking brave action in my life and live like i wanted, on my terms. Being able to show up for myself everyday and honor what I needed through my grief journey was the series of daily choices and decisions I made to start choosing myself and built my confidence to make big decisions that would move my life forward, on my terms.

So I quit and bet everything on myself and started my entrepreneurial journey. And here we are, well, not exactly like that, there were a few ups and downs in between, but here we are! Now, with a thriving virtual wellness biz, I just opened up my first brick and mortar space outside of Boston. I offer movement and fitness classes and one-on-one mindset coaching. And, I have a top 10% podcast, the Go Be Epic podcast all about trailblazing millenials who are taking action in their life and busting out of the box. It’s so incredible amazing to watch this community grow.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Honestly, so much! I am so grateful for the struggle and the pain and the getting knocked down. All of those gritty and painful experiences helped me grow, learn about myself and help me get really clear on what I wanted in my life. Now, because of those experiences, I know have an entire experiential and anecdotal toolbox to be able to serve my community and help people who are in similar situations.

AND, I am also grateful for my teaching career, as toxic as it was, what I did gain from it was actual formal teaching experience and leadership skills. I am certified and trained to build curriculums and teach people how to learn new skills, which is what I know sets me apart from other instructors and coaches: not only do I know the content, I have the actual formal credentials to do it exceptionally.

For folks on their journey and are up against roadblocks, maybe even similar ones, time and time again, I invite you to lean in and see what it is here to teach you and show you. There is something really powerful in the lesson you are about to learn from the struggle it will be the gift given to you to do something great in this world.

I know it may feel so never ending, but I promise that moving through it will be exactly what you need to level up.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I love this question! Collaboration is so important and it is definitely how we build the tribe of people who are like minded and support our goals.

Connecting with entrepreneur groups and biz coaches who want to collab and partner together would be amazing. Being an entrepreneur is not for the faint of heart and being able to have a space to move through your big decisions with confidence and clarity AND find like minded people is important, so I would love to be able to offer that and share what we do in the entrepreneur space.

And, if you are looking for speakers or hosts for any of your events, I would be honored to hype it up!

Plus, if you are a trailblazing millennial who has a really interesting story and want to come on the podcast, please reach out! I would love to connect.
