We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Anita Hodosi. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Anita below.
Anita , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
Growing up in a quaint farm town, I was surrounded by a tapestry of hard work woven by my grandparents and the resilient souls of our community. It was a time of transition, just after the curtain of communism had fallen in Hungary, and the landscape of people’s lives was evolving alongside the shifting system. Witnessing my family tend to their gardens, care for animals, and juggle their day jobs instilled in me a profound appreciation for dedication and perseverance.
My parents, hailing from humble backgrounds, epitomized the epitome of hard work, rising as successful entrepreneurs. Their relentless pursuit of excellence often meant sacrificing precious moments, even working through cherished holidays like Christmas and Easter. As a child, I keenly felt the weight of their sacrifices, yet I understood the noble purpose behind their endeavors. The seeds of diligence were further nurtured by the sight of my sister, a professional athlete, dedicating herself to grueling training regimens that tested both her physical prowess and mental fortitude.
As for me, my father planted the seeds of self-discovery through meditation from early childhood. By the time I turned twelve, I was studying under a Buddhist monk, delving into the realms of energy work and spirituality, immersing myself in the teachings of Reiki. These early lessons in mindfulness, discipline, and humility served as pillars of strength as I ventured into the world of modeling at just fourteen years of age.
Leaving behind the familiarity of my hometown, I embarked on a solo odyssey to Asia, armed with little more than determination and a thirst for adventure. Despite the language barrier and the daunting challenges that lay ahead, I dove headfirst into the demanding world of modeling, navigating its intricacies with grit and resilience. — Being and Aries, might have helped. 🙂
Traveling from country to country, experiencing constant change, helped me smoothly transition, after 18 years, from a fashion model into a successful coach and healer, fulfilling my lifelong dream of guiding people. I believe my humble beginnings laid the foundation for where I am today and shaped every step of my journey.
From that pivotal moment at fourteen, my journey has been a relentless pursuit of excellence, marked by a tireless work ethic and an unwavering commitment to personal growth. Balancing the rigors of a full-time modeling career with the demands of high school education was no small feat, yet it forged within me a resilience that continues to define my path.
Looking back on those formative years, I can’t help but marvel at the innocence and courage of my fourteen-year-old self, venturing into the unknown with naivety and boundless optimism. If I could turn back the hands of time, I would offer her a reassuring embrace, whispering words of encouragement and wisdom. Yet, it is precisely those trials and tribulations that have sculpted me into the resilient individual I am today, a testament to the transformative power of hard work and unwavering determination.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
The story of The Connectionist is deeply intertwined with my own life’s journey—a journey of self-discovery, connection, and spiritual awakening. It’s rooted in my personal experiences and my profound connection to self, the collective, and the universe.
At the core of my work is the belief that Earth is a soul school—a place where we come to learn, grow, and evolve as souls through the human experience. Viewing everything in life, whether it be work, relationships, or challenges, as opportunities for learning and growth can make our life flow with more ease.
When we approach life with consciousness and awareness, we’re able to recognize the lessons presented to us and navigate them with greater ease. By understanding what we’re working on within ourselves, we can flow with the currents of life rather than resisting them. This perspective allows us to embrace the journey with open hearts and minds, knowing that every experience is a stepping stone on the path to higher understanding and enlightenment.
As a Therapeutic Spirit Center coach, I’m dedicated to helping my clients rediscover their authentic essence and understand the deeper meaning behind their life experiences. I guide them in uncovering why certain patterns persist, what lessons are mirrored in their circumstances, and how to unlock their full potential.
My approach centers on shifting clients from fear-based thinking to love-based living. Through therapeutic techniques and spiritual guidance, I empower individuals to let go of limiting beliefs and embrace a life of authenticity and fulfillment.
What sets The Connectionist apart is its focus on holistic healing, guidance from the Akashic realm — our souls enegretic library– and personal transformation that flows with grace. I’m passionate about creating a nurturing space where clients can explore their inner world, cultivate self-awareness, and tap into their innate wisdom.
As for what’s new, I’m excited to announce that soon I’ll be launching my own meditation channel and subscription service. Additionally, I’ll be expanding further into the corporate world, bringing my unique approach to holistic healing and personal development to workplaces seeking to foster greater well-being and fulfillment among their employees.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reflecting on my journey, the three most impactful qualities are humbleness, optimism, and groundedness.
Humbleness allowed me to approach each experience with an open mind and a willingness to learn. It kept me receptive to new ideas, perspectives, and opportunities for growth. Optimism provided me with the resilience to navigate challenges and setbacks with grace and perseverance. It enabled me to maintain a positive outlook, even in the face of adversity, and believe in life’s inherent goodness. Groundedness kept me rooted in the present moment and connected to my inner strength and wisdom. It served as an anchor during times of uncertainty, helping me stay centered and focused on my path forward.
When I was modeling, I often advised the younger generation to treat modeling as a job and to find their identity beyond that. I emphasized the importance of recognizing that while modeling is a great job, it doesn’t define who you are as a person. I encouraged them to treat everyone equally and with respect, staying open to learning from every interaction.
For those who are early in their journey, my advice is to cultivate these qualities deliberately and consistently. Practice humbleness by remaining open to feedback and humble enough to acknowledge your own limitations. Cultivate optimism by focusing on the positive aspects of every situation and maintaining faith in your ability to overcome challenges. Nurture groundedness by establishing a daily practice of mindfulness, meditation, or reflection that helps you stay grounded and centered amidst life’s ups and downs.
By developing these qualities, you’ll not only enhance your personal growth journey but also cultivate a strong foundation for navigating life’s complexities with resilience, grace, and authenticity.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
The book that has profoundly influenced my development is “A Return to Love” by Marianne Williamson. This transformative book, based on the teachings of A Course in Miracles, has been a guiding light for me for eight years, and I’ve revisited its wisdom countless times.
Here are a few of the most valuable and impactful nuggets of wisdom I’ve gleaned from “A Return to Love”:
Take full responsibility for everything in your life: This teaching reminds me that I have the power to shape my reality and that I am not a victim of circumstances. By taking ownership of my experiences, I empower myself to make positive changes and create the life I desire.
You are never upset for the reason you think you are upset for: This nugget of wisdom encourages me to look beyond surface-level emotions and explore the deeper root causes of my feelings. It reminds me to approach situations with curiosity and openness rather than reacting impulsively based on surface appearances.
Willingness to see things differently: This concept highlights the importance of flexibility and openness to new perspectives. By shifting my perception and letting go of limiting beliefs, I create space for growth and transformation in my life. It all starts with the willingness.
Everybody is special, and nobody is special.” This concept resonates deeply with me, emphasizing each individual’s inherent worth and uniqueness. It acknowledges that we all possess unique gifts, talents, and paths in life that contribute to the richness of the human experience. Whether one excels in singing, baking, or any other pursuit, their value as a human being remains equal to that of others. This understanding fosters a sense of inclusivity, honoring every individual’s diverse talents and contributions while recognizing our shared humanity and interconnectedness.
Every action comes from love or fear: This powerful insight reminds me to examine the underlying motivations behind my actions. By choosing love over fear in every moment, I align myself with the highest good and contribute to a more loving and harmonious world.
These timeless teachings continue to guide me on my personal growth and spiritual awakening journey, inspiring me to live with greater love, compassion, and authenticity.
