We recently connected with Anna Galuszka and have shared our conversation below.
Anna, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
First of all everything starts from coming out from comfort zone. Doing things that are new for me gave me more confidence. It doesn’t matter if I failed or succeed because we cant know our limits if we don’t try anything new isn’t it?
By doing so I created more self believe and jumping in new waters became easier and easier for me.
I always been curious and wanted to learn something new.
Its normal to have own insecurities and fears but listening to those we will never help to personally grow and go ahead in life.
Not being afraid to fail its very powerful because the failure is still better than being scared and doing nothing and die with regrets.
I used to be this person who was afraid what people gonna say or how they will judge me but this is a trap that our mind creates. The older you get the less you care.
I do believe that surrounding yourself with right crowd who encourage and support you is super important.
Challenging myself with with little goals definitely helped me with reaching what I want in life. Baby steps with a strategy.
I do believe that one of the biggest confidence killer is self sabotage and comparison ourselves with others. We all share different life experiences, and journeys. Being patient also helped me with not giving up in weaker moments.
Everything is a daily inner work and self talk.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I work as professional chef since 13 years and since 4 years I started to experiment with jewellery designing and I do both now at the same time.
In 2011 I moved very spontaneously to Sweden from Poland to a friend and here my chef career started ( got chef education in Poland).
Aside cooking I always been interested in arts, music, dance and fashion of course.
Exploring creativity in different forms was always my thing since i was a kid.
Once I got chef position in huge high school in Stockholm city center as responsible of cold kitchen I finally could focus on my fashion related projects. I have been really lucky that I could connect both and I still do.
Since 2020 I started to experiment with drawing jewellery and play around with polymer clay, beads, chains etc.
I have decided that yes I will register sole trade company and just go for it. Why not? All in or nothing 😉
I have found suppliers, graphic designers I collaborate with and I started to build my online shop so the collection on the begging of year 2021. I did all on my own. I really love to learn new skills even if I don’t necessarily like them but some IT skills never hurt nobody isn’t it?
I am pretty nerdy and artistic myself so I really love to focus on solutions and use creativity to solve the problems.
Spending time on my own a lot also helps to focus and grow both professionally and personally.
One of my favorite things when I create new designs is the fact that once I start I forget about the time and just fall in love with the process. While making jewellery I love to listen to different educational podcasts. Connecting creative work and education sounds just perfect for me. This is how charge my battery and this makes me happy.
Following the motto “dress to express” the brand’s mission is to show your unique style through jewelry.
All my collections are different but has one thing in common: they are colorful.
I get inspired from the nature, contemporary art, retro and street fashion. I am huge fan of 80s and 90s in fashion so you can definitely find pieces that relate to this era.
I love to experiment with materials, techniques etc. I am playful by the nature so is my brand and jewellery.
It can be challenging sometimes to work full time as chef and focusing on growing side business after work every day. This is why I do believe that you gotta love what you do in order to have energy and determination to do it.
After I opened my company I have learnt a lot not only about the business itself but about me and what I am capable to do.
It really helped me with growing my confidence stronger and rejections I take like blessings not personal.
Its beautiful how you can grown as I person and push yourself to do better. One of my role models was my step dad. He used to tell me If you say YES it will happen. He always motivated me to do better and not feel sorry for myself. Life is too short to waste on self doubt.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I would point here Patience, Discipline, Self Believe. I am all in type of person so If I want something I just go for it.
Start to set little goals, do TO DO list. Once you achieve little steps every day it will make you feel better and even more motivated
Dont forget to take days off, meditate or just relax. Sometimes its easy to forget about it and you can easily burn out and its game over.
Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
My ideal client is someone that is not afraid to stand out and very often have own style or eventually looks to improve it.
I can understand that jewellery I design is not for everyone and that’s the point, You got your style and just choose designs that suit your original look.
