Hi Annette , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from overcoming all the personal trials I have endured most of my life. I entered foster care from birth and went back home at age 5 to losing everything 5 years ago and having to rebuild my life through depression and financial loss. I always knew that I wanted more for myself and was determined to succeed against all the odds. I stepped out on faith three years ago when I was laid off from my job due to the pandemic. I took the leap of faith. Risking everything I had for a vision to change lives financially. I went full time in my tax firm business, building it to $100,000 in 90 days. I was able to start hiring my team last year to earlier this year growing my business to half a million and now I am celebrating $1 million in revenue in my business!
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As a tax accountant and Kingdom Wealth Coach, I am on a mission to help business owners make millions and build wealth. In high school, I had such an interest and passion for accounting that I chose this as my major at SUNY Brockport. I went on to work at H & R Block for three years where I learned more about taxes and built my skill sets. Five years ago, I lost everything and had to rebuild my life. I started working for the department of education to get my life together. While I was working there, I started the Tax Experience as my side hustle and used my lunch breaks to email my clients. It was definitely a grind but I kept putting the work in. When I got laid off, I stepped out on faith, betted on myself and went into my business full time. Since going full time in my business, I have done speaking engagements across the country and internationally, hosted wealth workshops and been invited to be a guest on numerous podcasts.
The Tax Experience is a full service tax and accounting firm. We offer tax planning, accounting, wealth strategy, CFO and payroll services for our clients throughout the US. We believe our powerhouse clients need powerhouse financials to match. That’s why we are so passionate about equipping our clients with the wealth prep, management, and growth services they need to create their most wildly profitable, abundant future yet. I am also excited about my upcoming vision board experience event. On December 1st from 5:30-10 pm ET, my team and I are hosting the Marked For Millions Vision Board Party in Rochester, NY. This event will be by far the biggest event that I have put on. It will be an experience for kingdom business owners to connect their vision for next year to the goal-getting mindset transformation needed for their life + business so they can get their businesses in position for millions. To elevate the experience, I have added a luxury, intimate one day retreat for 10 ladies on December 2nd from 9 am-7 pm to receive the strategy, accountability and community that will be necessary to set the course of Q1 and Q2 of 2024 to hit their next money milestone.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I would say it was my determination, my faith in God and my ambition that were most impactful in my journey. For those of you who are just starting on your journey, I would say do not quit your day job; well maybe if God tells you too. But use it as fuel and set up your finances to start investing in your dream + vision. Start from where you are and with what you have. Keep your vision and why in front of you and just as you go to work everyday, make it a goal of yours to work on your business everyday. Be 100% committed. Running a business is not for the faint of heart. Trust God and what He put on the inside of you. He will bring your vision to fruition!
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal clients are coaches, consultants, real estate investors and beauty business owners who are making at least four figures a month in their businesses consistently who have a goal of making $100,000/year or more. I help my clients make 6 figures in 90 days and help them maximize their tax deductions and increase their profit margins so that they can pay themselves first and create generational wealth.
