Meet Anthony Abram Jr.

We were lucky to catch up with Anthony Abram Jr. recently and have shared our conversation below.

Anthony, sincerely appreciate your selflessness in agreeing to discuss your mental health journey and how you overcame and persisted despite the challenges. Please share with our readers how you overcame. For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.
By just continuing to remind myself on why I started being public with my own Mental Health journey. Keeping that courage, I had back in 2017 alive today when I do anything related to Mental Health. Encouraging one person to go seek professional help has always been the goal! We’ll never know what the next person is going through unless they either tell us or we ask. The least I can do with my borrowed time is try to be a positive voice and speak up on my real experiences.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Living Always mission is dedicated to normalizing Mental Health conversations after experiencing Postpartum Trauma amongst our community. Every Wednesday we host a free virtual Mental Health support group for those needing a safe space to just talk about whatever is on your mind!

On August 18th, we’ll be launching our fall Mental Health collection. Each piece will have a personal but relatable backstory.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Wow, this is a great question! First, I would say accepting that it’s okay to reinvent yourself. Learning that you’re growing and evolving, so it’s okay to start fresh. Secondly, identifying my emotions. Understanding why I feel the way I do and being able to articulate that. Lastly, journaling daily. Writing down my thoughts on my good and bad days.

For someone reading this my advice would be just start somewhere. No matter what, you must develop a positive habit. Whether that’s writing your thoughts daily, walking in the park, or just calling your favorite person telling them how your day went. Day by day you must build off just starting.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
First thing that comes to mind would be spending as much time with my loved ones and close friends. I’d go on a traveling world tour for sure to eat and learn more about different cultures. First stop would be exploring the entire continent of Africa. Then Seoul, Korea, Tokyo, Japan, and the entire Caribbean. Aruba and Mykonos, Greece would definitely see me again! Outside of that I would try my best to pour as much positivity into the world during that time.
