Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ariel Strickler. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Ariel, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
Imposter Syndrome is definitely something I have battled in my work setting. I hold myself to a high standard and always push to achieve my goals. I have to remind myself of how much work I have put in to be at the place I am now. Countless hours of school, multiple advanced courses and trainings has allowed me to do the jobs I LOVE! But sometimes the pressure I put on myself can be a hinderance.
Over the years of growing my business I have realized It’s important to celebrate the wins (no matter how big, or small). It is OK to talk about yourself and your business- BE PROUD! Surround yourself with friends and family who think you are a bad ass, and encourage/believe in you! … And for me, it’s extremely important to let go of perfection, speak positively to myself, and enjoy the ride!
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
BOLD N’ Bitchin’ is a boutique style medical spa located in Frisco, Colorado. We support and encourage confidence, independence, determination, leadership- just all badasses!
For 5 years we simply provided eyelash extensions and brow tinting/waxing, but we wanted bigger and better. Last summer, I reached out to an old high school friend, to combine forces and open a medical spa. On October 1, 2022 we joined forces with June Esthetics to bring medical grade skin services to the community.
There is such a need to create a safe, fun place for people to get the beauty treatments they desire. With skincare comes extreme vulnerability. Clients come in, we wipe away the dirt and make up, hand them a mirror and say “here, tell me your concerns.” This can and IS very difficult for nearly everyone. Our job is to provide knowledge to the client, explain the journey they will go on, and walk them thru it.
We want our clients to come to us for many, many years, have flawless skin, age gracefully, and feel BOLD N’ Bitchin’
We now offer additional services such as Botox, Filler, Chemical Peels, Microneedling, Permanent Makeup and more! (Lasers to come in 2023!)
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, the three main things that stand out to my that were most impactful in my journey was education, consistency, and just simply caring.
I attended Vanguard University of Southern California where I received a BA in Business Administration. I have used so much of what I learned in college to start, develop and grown my business. Shortly after graduating I attended College of International Esthetics and received my esthetics license. Since then I have attended numerous advanced training courses to grow my expertise. The beauty industry is always evolving, the continuing education is never ending. Staying current with beauty trends, techniques, trainings and products has helped us maintain high quality services and treatments.
Consistency is KEY! The more consistent you are in your business, the more likely it is to flourish. Clients need to be prioritized, they need to feel predictability, and security. Have consistent work hours, have consistent positive outcomes, and don’t stop!
Caring may seem silly but honestly I guarantee its the one reason we are so successful and why we will continue to grow. Each employee at BOLD N’ Bitchin’ genuinely cares about you!
