We recently connected with Asper Hegwood and have shared our conversation below.
Asper, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
Faith without works is dead. Nothing given, only earned. I have always been a planner and I am the type of person who makes a 5 year plan of what I want out of life. I also know those plans won’t come to pass unless I put in the work.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am passionate about my craft and the impact it has on people’s lives. I create handcrafted chocolates using the finest ingredients and traditional techniques. The most exciting and special aspect of my work is the joy it brings to others. There is something magical about seeing someone’s face light up when they taste one of my chocolates and experience the rich flavors and textures.
What sets my brand apart is the underlying commitment to my faith. I believe that every creation is an opportunity to spread love, joy, and positivity. My chocolates are not just tasty treats but also reflections of the love and care that goes into crafting them. Each piece is meticulously made with attention to detail, ensuring that every bite is a moment of pure bliss.
In terms of new developments, I am constantly working on expanding my product line to offer a wider variety of flavors and designs. I am always looking to introduce limited edition collections for the upcoming holiday season, featuring unique combinations that capture the spirit of the festivities. Additionally, I am planning to organize tasting events where customers can sample different chocolate creations, learn about the art of chocolate-making, and connect with fellow chocolate enthusiasts.
Overall, I want people to know that my brand represents a perfect blend of my roles as a wife, mom, and entrepreneur. Through my chocolates, I strive to bring joy, create memorable experiences, and spread the love of Christ to all those who indulge in them.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back on my journey, there were three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that had the most significant impact on my growth and success:
Perseverance: The ability to persevere through obstacles, challenges, and setbacks is crucial in any journey. It is important to develop a mindset that embraces failure as an opportunity to learn and grow. My advice to those starting their journey is to cultivate resilience and stay focused on their goals, even in the face of adversity. Surround yourself with a support system that can encourage and motivate you during challenging times.
Continuous learning: Embracing a mindset of continuous learning is vital for personal and professional growth. Stay curious, be open to new ideas and perspectives, and constantly seek ways to improve and refine your craft. Take advantage of any opportunity for mentorship, workshops, classes, or online resources that can help you enhance your knowledge and skills.
Building relationships: Success is not achieved alone; it often requires collaboration, support, and networking. Building genuine relationships with like-minded individuals, mentors, or experts in your field can provide invaluable guidance, inspiration, and valuable connections. Remember, relationships are a two-way street, so always be willing to give and support others as well.
Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
Learning to let go and delegate responsibility is one of the greatest challenges I have faced as a l It’s difficult to let go of what you know and trust and allow other people to take on responsibilities that are new to them. However, I have come to realize that only by doing this can we truly achieve our goals. I am constantly learning from those around me and delegating tasks so that they can gain more experience and confidence in their abilities.
