Meet Assaf Raz

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Assaf Raz. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Assaf, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
My optimism’s roots are within the conviction that no other valid option exists. I once saw a short video of a man who explained, over a drawing board, that there is no value in “worrying.” This entertaining clip was the closest I ever found as a likeness to my thinking.

Embracing the above rationale made it impossible to consider any other path in life.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I immigrated to Venice Beach, CA, in my early twenties. The two decades road was difficult and went through real estate and other pursuits. In 2020, my concerns about the country and my family’s safety grew–I had to do something. This newfound conclusion helped me to find my purpose and switch to the authorship path.

After three-plus years, I recently released the book “Lockdown 2020: Descent.” The manuscript is the first installation of The Old Glory Saga, an alternate-history dystopian series. This is my way to get involved in my children’s name.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The impactful pillars of my journey are “The why,” acting in “full acceptance,” and the “next step forward.”

Knowing your Why is seeing your highest virtue. For me, my family is that. It makes everything else easy.

To act in Full Acceptance, you ensure that each decision is a unity of your heart and mind. This is no easy fit, but when accomplished, even if eaten alive by fear, one can advance. I started using this method back in 2011 and never looked back.

As for the Next Step Forward, a quick detour. A few years ago, my brother-in-law asked me how I knew my book would be finished. I told him, “It’s easy. I wake up tomorrow morning and sit in front of the keyboard.” That’s it, no big secret—will yourself forward.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
The book “Atlas Shrugged,” by Ayn Rand, has guided my life since reading it. To unpack this novel is impossible within the confines of my response here, so I will focus on one quote. “I swear by my life and my love of it that I will never live for the sake of another man nor ask another man to live for mine.”

These above-quoted words were the parts of a lock, which I had to understand how to pick apart and open the door. It helped me develop into who I am today–a Free Man.
