Meet Athena Vas

We recently connected with Athena Vas and have shared our conversation below.

Athena, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us today. We’re excited to dive into your story and your work, but first let’s start with a broader topic that might be stopping many of our readers from pursuing their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. How have you managed to persist despite haters and nay-sayers that inevitably follow folks who are doing something unique, special or off the beaten path?

So, in my book “Fck It,” where I lay out these seven commandments to become untouchable, there’s this one golden rule: “Fck the Naysayers.” It’s a mindset I’ve fully embraced. The gist is simple: if these folks aren’t footing my bills, their opinions are like background noise to me. This mindset turns into my superpower, helping me tackle challenges with grit and an unwavering dedication to my personal goals. I’m all about internal motivations, boosting my self-confidence, and zeroing in on what I want. External judgment? Nah, that’s just water off a duck’s back. I’m cool with constructive criticism if it helps me grow, but if it’s just baseless negativity, I don’t waste a second on it. Following the “F*ck the Naysayers” commandment isn’t just a rebellious stance; it’s a compass guiding me through the unique journey that’s all mine.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Whether she’s on screen, behind the mic, or within the pages of “F*ck It,” Athena Vas is on a life mission to empower and uplift others.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I’d say there were three things that really made a difference in my journey. First up, resilience was a game-changer. Bouncing back from failures and not letting challenges knock me down was key. For those just starting out, my advice is to stay positive, focus on solutions, and see obstacles as chances to grow.

Then there’s effective communication. Whether I was doing my podcast, acting, or writing, being able to express myself well was super important. If you’re just starting, practice is key. Get feedback, tweak your approach, and keep refining how you express yourself.

Lastly, adaptability was a big player. Things change fast, and being able to roll with it kept me on my toes. If you’re starting out, stay curious, keep learning, and be open to new stuff. Being flexible sets you up to grab unexpected opportunities.

So, my advice? Take challenges as chances to learn, be tough when things get rough, work on how you express yourself, and stay open to change. Remember, setbacks are just part of the journey, not the end of the road.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Absolutely, I’m actively seeking individuals to partner and collaborate with as I have various projects going. Building a loyal team is crucial for growth, and I have a lot on my plate, making collaboration a powerful way to achieve our collective goals. I’m looking for passionate and dedicated individuals who share my vision and are ready to contribute their skills to our shared success.
