Meet Audrey Queen

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Audrey Queen. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Audrey below.

Audrey, thanks for taking the time to share your lessons with our community today. So, let’s jump right in – one of the most essential skills for unlocking our potential is self-discipline. Where does your self-discipline come from?
My self-discipline comes from growing up in a household where I was taught that if you set your mind to it, and you work hard at what you want, you will get it. So when something needs to get done I hit it head on and o hit it hard to make sure that is the best I could possibly be. I want to show the world where hard work and dedication can take you when you set your mind to it.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am the lead singer of the Chicago hard rock band Bullet To The Heart. My message that I want to spread to my Bloodline is that you are never alone. I want to be a voice for the voiceless and educate people on the importance of mental health. If you need help reach out for it or find people who can help you. This year we plan to release an EP on this exact topic. You can overcome any obstacle you set your mind to. There are so many people an resources out there that can help you achieve any goal. Keep up with us with our linktree link you can find on our Facebook page! Just search Bullet To The Heart and you’ll find us!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three skills I feel were most impactful on my journey was knowing when to take a break for my own mental health, being able to be resilient and adaptable to overcome obstacles that were difficult to me, and practicing consistently to improve on my singing. The advice I have is, if you need help, get help. Take a break when you feel overwhelmed and give yourself a timeline on when things need to get done and spread it out day by day so you don’t get overwhelmed.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
I think the challenge I am struggling with the most is allowing myself to mentally heal during this time in my life. I was recently diagnosed with CPTSD (complex post traumatic stress disorder) from my near death experience and the overdose of my uncle almost 7 years ago. I developed CPTSD shortly after my uncles overdose, so trying to juggle life with the band and going to therapy to allow myself to heal has been a difficult journey. But a journey I wouldn’t be able to enjoy if it wasn’t for my fans, The Bloodline. I love them so much and I cannot wait to add more to this family in this coming year!
