Meet Aundrya Richardson

We recently connected with Aundrya Richardson and have shared our conversation below.

Aundrya, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
I spent my entire life being the girl who would stand out in a crowd, no matter how much I tried to fit in and be like everyone else. I was different. Everything from my eyes, hair, skin color, etc. My late mother used to tell me I was born to be different and that I had a greater purpose in life that would never look like anyone else’s. I couldn’t see it the way she did at first. I actually thought I was cursed for being different and looking different. But one day I got older and my mother’s words began to make more sense. God helped me to no longer see my uniqueness as a curse but a blessing. It took time, but I soon came to a place of accepting what makes Aundrya who she is!

My pastor, Apostle James Mouzon, II, says often how knowing who you are gives you the confidence to show up in a room knowing that what you bring to the table is the solution to someone’s problem or need. To succeed as the one who stands out from the rest, I had to first see myself as beautiful, unique, intelligent, and one who God did not make a mistake in creating! What was built within began to reveal itself in a way that allowed others to see me in another light, a light that was an influence and inspiration to those I was meant to reach through the extension of who I am.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
For the last seven years, I’ve had a book writing services business called Impact Writing LLC. This year, I changed the name to Write With Aundrya. My business was started to help new writers have their book(s) written through ghostwriting, 1×1 book writing sessions, editing services and so much more! As a self-published author, I know what it’s like to have a story you want to tell but are stuck with an idea and no direction on how to execute it. My passion is to be a support and a guide to those who are looking for the direction needed to write and publish their book, and ultimately feel accomplished in reaching their goal and making their dream a tangible reality.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Learning how to type, learning good writing skills & techniques, and learning how to use computers and computer systems! I learned these skills at a young age not understanding it’s purpose until these skills became useful during my writing journey as well as the clients I was given the opportunity to assist with their projects. I would encourage anyone who desires to pursue anything that requires a specific set of skills, don’t be afraid to research, study and learn everything you can in order to be the most efficient and effective in what you pursue. Knowledge truly is power and the more you learn, the more you grow!

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
Learning the truth of who I am has been my biggest point of growth this last year! I mentioned my pastor, Apostle James Mouzon, II earlier in the article. He and his wife, Prophetess Shreeia Mouzon are the ones who God used to be a great support to me on this journey through a course and a powerful book that they created called EYE-DENTITY! This has changed my life for the better because it not only helped me understand that I have a purpose for being here, but it built my confidence in my skills, my business endeavors and everything that I’ve put my mind and my hands to do! Without it, I would still be in my own place of isolation, hiding from the world out of fear that I would never be accepted. Growing in this area has allowed me to see that while it’s not for me to be accepted by everyone, there are a remnant of people that I’m assigned to make an impact with by telling my story and helping them to continue their journey and not grow weary in the process!
