Meet Avriele Williams

We were lucky to catch up with Avriele Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.

Avriele, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Honestly, I get my resilience from life. Life has thrown me many obstacles that at the time seemed impossible to overcome. However, I watched my mother overcome obstacle after obstacle as a child and even now as an adult. So resilience has been instilled in me years before I knew what the word was. I can say the last 3 years of my life has by far been the toughest. So many times I have wanted to give up and not care about the outcome. I am a planner and it seems the plans I’ve made the last few years have not gone as planned. At the time, it left me feeling defeated. I have always known I was a strong person but over the course of the last few years life has shown me just how strong I am. And now that I am a mom to two beautiful daughters. I have to instill resilience in them, just as my mom did for me. I have to show them that you can withstand the storm and come out stronger than ever. To always be determined and know that you can and will overcome whatever life may throw your way.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am a mental health therapist but I am a mom first. And because of these two important titles it was important for me to create a safe space for moms that may suffer from postpartum depression or even just adjusting to motherhood. So I created Chiron Therapy,  which means the wounded healer. As you know women go through so much to bring their baby earth side oftentimes resulting in wounds that will heal over time. I will work with mothers to heal, transform, and become whole again.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
One would be higher education. I would not have the knowledge I have now as a therapist if it were not for both my degrees. Second, I would say life. Life is the greatest teacher of all things. You experience so much throughout your life from childhood to adulthood, both good and bad. What is most effective is taking those experiences and learning from them. Third, being told no. If I stopped every time I was told no, I would not be in this position today. Which is also a part of showing resilience. Always being determined and most importantly always finding a way. The best advice is to experience life. Every day is a new day that is full of life’s lessons. Just have to pay close attention and see how you can apply these lessons in your everyday life to help improve your growth and development overall.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
My ideal client is someone who is open and transparent. Someone who is ready for change. Ready for growth. Most importantly someone who is ready to work as a team to overcome their obstacles in life.
