We were lucky to catch up with Bea Bogan recently and have shared our conversation below.
Bea , so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
My optimism comes from my spiritual journey. I am choosing a path to embrace my creativity integrity and freedom. Being an artist has taught me to have faith on a different level. To go out and live and to trust that every experience serves a purpose to take me to the next level in life. To bring more love, wisdom, and compassion into my life. My optimism has grown from experiences and choosing to keep still going even when things didn’t go as I thought
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Bea Bogan. I am a photographer, artist, and content creator. Professionally, I am focused on having an artistic career. I like to focus on using my talents to make a career for myself.
My latest project Fearless Expression is a new addition to my list of creative adventures. Fearless Expression is the YouTube channel that I have created to allow myself to become adventurous, and enjoy things I like to do, like cooking, traveling and just being me freely! Fearless Expression has allowed me to showcase my true self in a healthy way that is authentic to me. 2 years ago when Fearless Expression was created, I was very uninspired with my photography business and overall life.
Creating Fearless Expression led me to take a journey to build my confidence (still learning), and release fears about living life on and off screen. Fearless Expression has been a helpful tool in my life to just live life, believe in the magic in life, and do things that are true to my journey while also being open to building a community that is truly supportive of people being different.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I am very grateful for my journey. Looking back I recognize that there are qualities, skills, and knowledge that I needed to get to where I am today. A quality I believe that is impactful in my journey is resilience. Starting my photography business was not an easy straight path. I faced situations that challenged and changed who I am as a person and business owner. Being resilient taught me how to have the strength to work through life challenges and find solutions to problems I faced as a business owner. Being open to learning from these experiences has helped me to keep pressing forward even when life throws you curveballs. These experiences have also helped me build a professional atmosphere that serves my clients with fairness, integrity, and compassion.
A skill that has been impactful in my journey is the importance of working together with others. I believe that when you use your talents as a way to serve your community, it is important to recognize the value that everyone holds in the community. To recognize that value, I am learning the importance of working together with others who are different from me! From these experiences I gained many relationships that have opened my perspective, about life, running my business, and what it means to be a part of a community. Learning how to work as a team is truly a fundamental skill that is valuable for any business owner.
Lastly, knowledge that has been impactful in my journey, is learning to work with what I have. I may not always have thousands of dollars worth of equipment, but valuing what I do have and using those tools to grow my photography business allowed me to create business creations that have progressed me to the next level.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes! I am looking to collaborate with other people more! I am looking to work with more positive people and that is open to accepting people for who they are. I want to collaborate with people who are healthy for me and vice-versus, where it’s equal give and take and everyone feels comfortable and free to just be themselves. I want to work with people who travel the world, people I can learn from, connect with, express talents with, and just enjoy embracing life in a more positive light! I want to collaborate with those who value like-minded values and beliefs and hold integrity even if we are different!
