Beats By , so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
To be honest my optimism comes from all of my life past experiences & trial and tribulations. Everything I’ve been through as made me stronger and stronger. I can openly admit that I didn’t have this type of mindset growing up, I went through things that I believe all human beings most likely couldn’t make it out of. To have a strong mindset and be able to calculate a situation, learning how to control you emotions is the key to building optimism. I feel like once you build this up and build your confidence to be a more positive person, its like nothing in life can bother you. We all go through challenges and trials, but to me its all about the outcome seriously. Managing your emotions through a negative situation, will make you stronger too. The way I look at it is that we all go through our own thunderstorms. You can make it out by watching your clouds clear and letting the sun shine again. You’ll be able to smile again once you reach the end of your trial or situation. Many us of might go through this cycle over and over. Many things in life is going to challenge us, but its up to us to make the best out of the situation.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Whats up everyone I go by BeatsByHod. I am a Music Producer from Atlanta,GA (Clayton County) to be exact. Most exciting thing I enjoy about what I do is just being able to see the love and support I get from time to time from different people all over the world I never knew I would be able to inspire other producer looking to take a path in the music production world. I get very excited when Im able to change someones perspective about the direction in life they want to take even if its outside of music. As far as my brand though, Im choosing to take things on another adventure, developing myself as an artist again, like when I was young and getting into music. I actually started off as an artist finding my way into music production.
When everything I’ve been through so far, I rather focus on building myself back as an artist and producing myself rather than trying to catch placements with artist. Im also about to get into sync licensing, that’s where you can get your music placed in TV shows and videos, etc.
I feel like that’s a better lane for me, and I’ll definitely be successful taking that route.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Being Consistent 2. Staying Focused
3. Staying True & Original
Advice I can give to people who are early in there journey is to be very creative with what you’re doing. Be different in a way where people can automatically know who you are and stand out the most. Originally is the key in anything you do. Its okay to get idea from different things or be inspired by someone. I would also say practice what you do on a daily. Put the hours in you need to keep advancing and leveling up. You keep doing these things and you will definitely keep seeing results. You may not see it overnight, but, its definitely going to happen. I tell people all the time, everyone path is different, so you have to take accountability in that and just have fun with what you’re doing as well.
What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
Learning to be to myself is the biggest growth & improvement for myself. I’ve learned that I really like to be alone, like I really enjoy being to myself. I feel like things go better when Im alone versus being around a crowd of people or just always being around other people. I feel like when Im alone I can accomplish things easier and at my pace. Im at peace a lot more nowadays cause Im always by myself or in my space solo dolo. When I’m working on music, Im by myself. Even when I go to certain places, I like to go by myself because its just better for me.
