We recently connected with Beverly Black Johnson and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Beverly , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Finding my purpose came with finding my inner soul and connecting with the passion that drives my desires the most! I became a writer. I grew up writing commercial jingles and poems with my brother.
I played 45rpm records over and over writing down song lyrics.
I wrote my first children’s book in high school but never published it.
I started Gumbo for the Soul Publications in 2003.
I engineer words into meaningful mantras.
I am a Quoteologist.
My purpose is manifesting my life through my words.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

1. My relationship with God 2. My self-worth
3. My determination
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
