Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bidisha Sinha. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Bidisha, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I think I am person with a clear vision in life. I keep my yearly goals always in mind and ask myself whether I am aligned to my goals every time I take up any project. This is what keeps me going. To me frequent self assessment and self critic is necessary to obtain that resilience. Now I’m not saying that we need to be perfect in everything we do; but keeping a bigger picture mind will always motivate us to take purpose driven actions and build up the resilience gradually.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Professionally I am a Product Manager at a Healthcare giant. But in addition to my 9-5 job, I create digital content majorly focusing on Makeup Tutorials, Skincare and Lifestyle content. A little bit of background on how this started. I am a trained Indian classical dancer and performed in various shows back in India. My interest in dance led to the interest in makeup. I always admired the backstage frenzy and preparation, more than what happened on stage. It’s the process that always excited me the most since my childhood. As I started getting older, I felt the urge to show my creativity through any form of platform. That’s where social media started playing a pivotal role and I could then start fully expressing myself.
I also keep traveling a lot. So I love sharing moments (be it in reels or stories or Vlogs) to my viewers who get a glimpse into my life as well.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think I am a great team player, flexible and fast learner so these three factors somehow opened various paths that helped me to sharpen the saw. Speaking of social media, I believe that it’s not the number game that matters. It’s the quality that will make one sustain in the long run.
So before anything else, asking yourself who you truly are and why are you doing what you are doing will be the building block for any endeavor. And staying flexible will allow you to tweak your approach and move ahead with the goal that you are passionate about.
Also, if you want to get better at what you do, never hesitate to look at other creator’s work to hone your skills. Remember, we always learn from another.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
Firstly, I always pause, reflect and identify my strengths and weaknesses. So the self awareness and self talk is very much essential.
Secondly, my husband has also gives me feedback in areas where I feel I need to improve.
So overall I feel a close person or a mentor’s frequent unbiased feedback will really be beneficial if you want to excel in what you love doing.
But also, remember to enjoy life as well. All work and no play can truly burn you out. So do what you love to do at your own pace.
