We recently connected with Braisha Owens and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Braisha , thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
I always aim to see the glass half full, appreciating the blessings around me. Gratitude is my guiding light, knowing that despite any challenges, there’s always someone facing greater struggles. I’m thankful for where I am and strive to spread positivity and resilience.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
In just a small-town girl living in a big(er) city, I’m living my dream, albeit on a smaller scale. I revel in entertaining people at our home with my fiancé and witnessing the growth of my now 7-month-old baby. Currently, the most exhilarating and precious aspects of my life are the growth of my little family and the progress of my career. With divine guidance, both are blossoming into something truly remarkable, fulfilling a long-awaited dream. My passion lies deeply in my brand, advocating for fashion with a purpose. We specialize in custom luxury denim, offer budget-friendly alternatives, contemporary styles, and exclusive couture pieces. Additionally, our nonprofit arm is dedicated to fashion wellness.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I’d say one of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned on my journey is the importance of networking and building relationships. Success often hinges on knowing the right people or having access to those who do. Whether you’re naturally outgoing or more reserved, it’s crucial to step out of your comfort zone and showcase your personality while focusing on forging connections. In this field, relationships are everything. You could be incredibly skilled in your craft, but without proper marketing or access to the right connections, your talent may go unnoticed.
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents have done for me is instilling confidence and high self-esteem since I was a young girl. They’ve been unwavering supporters, my biggest cheerleaders. I often joke that even if I were to rob a bank, my mom would say, “She messed up, but she’s still my baby,” while my dad might exclaim, “Why did you do that?” before quietly adding, “But I’ve got your back.” My parents are my heart, and their influence on my life is immeasurable. They’ve set the standard for parental support, both emotionally and financially, and I’m incredibly grateful for them.
