Meet Breonn Lyons

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Breonn Lyons. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Breonn, thank you for joining us today and sharing your experiences and acquired wisdom with us. Burnout is a huge topic these days and so we’d love to kick things off by discussing your thoughts on overcoming or avoiding burnout
I have realized that whenever I feel burnt out it means that I am trying to create from a space of lack, and that I’m now forcing what should flow. Whenever I’m tired or feel “creator’s block,” I try to implement things that restore the feelings of ease and peace, and once I’m back in that space of ease, the creative energy reignites on its own. I also am assured by the knowledge that I am the source of my creativity, how can I be “blocked” from something that comes from within me? I changed my perspective, so I no longer see it as a problem or obstacle, but as a signal to recenter, and with patience I give myself what I need.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I manifest the visions I see in my head. I express myself through my talents within visual art, and enjoy presenting them to the world as a way of sharing my light and who I am. I’m most excited about the way my projects will impact and change people for the better, and cause them to reflect. That’s what I’ve been most interested in recently. I have always been doing creative things since I was little; I would write, draw, dance, I would perform for my parents during dinner, make them sing karaoke songs with me from High School Musical and The Cheetah Girls, and I did so many sports growing up. So I’m very used to exercising numerous abilities. That’s what I want people to know that about my brand- that the medium in which I choose to do a project is intentional to further the message. I am currently working on a project focusing on duration, and I’m excited for what it has to offer the world.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Solitude, taking risks, and trusting yourself. I say it all the time, and I remind myself all the time. You cannot rely on anyone else to give you any type of validation or green light. Practice not asking anyone how they feel about an idea you have, just do it and take a moment to sit with how YOU feel about it, solidify that, THEN present it to the world.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am always looking to collaborate with people who are not only passionate and super dedicated to their craft, but don’t mind putting in the extra work for the fulfillment of the project’s purpose. I plan to work with people who are detail oriented- polished details and presentation are everything to me. I also must work with people who are compassionate and grounded. You must understand that collaboration is an exchange, not a “leg up” or a one way street. We are all here for the vision, leave your ego at the door. If you are dedicated, have innovative ideas, and walk into your craft with love as you open it up to other people, then I’d love for you to email me at [email protected].
