We were lucky to catch up with Breonna Granto recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Breonna, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
When I look at my life, I think my work ethic comes from so many things but mostly from being raised independent, learning my sense of survival mode, and perseverance. Throughout my life, I have been blessed with the ability to truly look within myself and others and grow from every single mistake I’ve ever made, and every single wrong ever done to me. I believe it’s these parts of life that have bled into my work/business life, shaping my work ethic.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I have a lot still taking up space in my professional life right now so the goal this year is to really shift focus. Not only do I own Grapes & Grazes, but I also have a full-time job at a dental office, as well as a Bookkeeping business. Slowly but surely, I am continuing to grow Grapes & Grazes, and although it is harder than I could’ve imagined shifting my professional/career life, everything happens in the timing it’s meant to. On my journey to Grapes & Grazes having my full attention, I am learning so much and I am truly enjoying the ride! Grapes & Grazes is so special to me and having this creative outlet that I’ve been able to monetize and work towards has brought so much happiness and so many GOOD challenges into my life. I have a lot of plans with my Charcuterie business, and right now I am offering many great services for your catering needs, small or big!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I’d say discipline, grace, and the ability to keep pushing forward has been the three most impactful areas in my journey. Every journey is different of course, but some advice I would give to improve in these areas would be to one; take every setback and turn it into a lesson that will only spring you forward. Two; recognize that a longer stride does not mean an unsuccessful stride. Three; no matter what happens or what is going on in your mind/or personal life, keep giving yourself grace and making steps forward. Do not let anyone or anything distract you from believing in yourself!
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Ah, an adult’s favorite word ~overwhelmed. Truly, I become overwhelmed pretty often. So, when I notice this happening, I am either so far in that all I can do is cry and enjoy that after-cry peace. OR if I am ahead of it, I will force myself to take a moment, invite God into the room, step away from my phone so that I can be in the moment, and try to center my spirit again. Nothing helps the feeling of overwhelmingness more than removing all tasks, worries, and useless thoughts from our minds, and I am able to do that through God.
