Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brittany Hartt. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brittany, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic comes from having a mother who was such a great role model for me. She’s a registered nurse and went back to school after her kids were grown to become a Geriatric Care Manager. She started her own company about 10 years ago and I watched her help countless families over the years. She is the product of continued perseverance despite any obstacles she faced. I strive to set the same example for my daughters. I want them to believe that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Brittany Hartt Designs is a children’s clothing line that was started in 2019 after the birth of my first daughter, Sophia. Majority of our clothing line is handmade in Southwest Florida. We source seamless files from artists all over the world, many of which are also women and mothers. We offer products made from a wide range of fabric bases that are printed in the USA. Our brand also has the ability to customize your child’s clothing. Most of our products are made to order and can be customized to meet your child’s needs. We also offer adaptations to our handmade patterns to allow access to ports, feeding tubes, etc.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities that were most impactful in my journey as a business owner include dedication, perseverance, and the willingness to learn. The product sales industry is ever changing. I have frequently had to evolve and shift my mindset to meet the needs of consumers. Each failed drop or product launch is used as a learning experience.
My advice for those who are early in their journey as a business owner is not to let yourself get discouraged. Try not to compare yourself to other businesses in your industry and focus on what makes you unique. It’s very easy to become discouraged when you try to compare yourself to others.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
We are looking for children ages 0-14 who would like to represent our brand and model our clothing. Children with medical needs are welcomed. If you are interested in either ongoing modeling opportunities or one-time collaborations, please reach out to us at Brittanyharttdesigns@gmail.com.
