Meet Brittney Alexander

We recently connected with Brittney Alexander and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittney , thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
Navigating imposter syndrome has been a recurring challenge throughout my seven-year journey as an entrepreneur. The reality is, overcoming imposter syndrome entirely might be an elusive goal, but the good news is that it can be effectively managed. As a business owner I often grapple with this phenomenon, given the inherent vulnerability of the entrepreneurial role. The business world requires you to showcase yourself continuously, with both triumphs and setbacks laid bare for the world to witness. Yet, I’ve discovered that the more you embrace this exposure, the more adept you become at quieting that nagging inner voice questioning your capabilities. It’s a process, but one that can lead to greater self-assurance on the entrepreneurial path.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

At Caked, we go beyond mere beauty; we embody an unwavering commitment to excellence in every aspect.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Striving to seek a strong grasp of all aspects of the business was vital when first establishing my Company. From finance to marketing, I wanted to gain a solid business acumen to ensure my companies longevity. I constantly sought out education through courses and mentorship to develop a well-rounded skill set that empowered me not only to create beautiful art but also to run a successful business. In addition to business acumen, building strong genuine connections with my clients has been probably the most impactful skill I have used. I have always had the ability to understand and full-fill my clients unique needs regardless of their walk of life. At Caked we strive to create a positive and memorable experiences that leave life long impressions.

For those who are lookin to embark on their entrepreneurial journey understand that every challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow. Embrace the learning curve. Don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone.

Networking matters!! Connect with fellow professionals, attend industry events and engage in online communities. Networking opens doors, provides insights, and fosters collaborations.

& Finally let passion be your driving force. Passion fuels progress. It’s what will sustain you through the inevitable challenges. Find joy in the process and stay connected to your, “why.”

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
Being overwhelmed as a business owner is not uncommon, but implementing effective strategies can help you navigate and overcome these challenges. Brain dumping at the start and end of my day has been a strategy that has allowed me to get everything out before prioritizing what needs to be done when. My brain is going nonstop at all hours of the day. Starting and ending with a brain dump helps clear some of the fog.

3 tips to help when overwhelmed: Prioritize your tasks, Delegate responsibilities, and learn when to say no. Identify the most critical tasks that require immediate attention. Focus on completing high-priority items first, and if possible, delegate less urgent tasks to team members. Break down your day into time blocks and stick to your schedule. Being overwhelmed is an ongoing process the more you try different strategies the closer you become to creating a system that works best for you.
