Meet Brittney Thornton

We were lucky to catch up with Brittney Thornton recently and have shared our conversation below.

Brittney, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My parents flat out! They raised my brother and I to never be lazy, take initiative whether its cleaning the house or going after my goals. They taught us to “work smarter, not harder” and to always “think” about what the situation’s solution might be. From personal goals to career goals I am so grateful they taught what great work habits mean early in age!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I began this journey with the love of music at age 2 which grew to my love for radio. Moving into the radio & media industry I was able to grow not just in the field but as a person. Making so many mistakes and moves that brought positive motion to my brand and relationships. I got my first TV appearance on ‘Divorce Court’ and next the opportunities have come over the past 2 years from HBO’s We Own The City to The Peoples Puzzler. Now my 5th casting on the Fox Network is on ’Person Place Or Thing’ airing after Oct 2023. I was so proud of this casting because I would be playing my true self. Nerdy funny bubbly and more, which is more of who I have wanted my audience to see and experience. I’m excited for my next big role in the Baltimore based TV series called ‘Citified’ as Quinn. There’s just been so much growth I can wait for everyone to see!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The 3 most impactful skills I have used consistently is time management, discipline, and patience. A very different answer from my younger self but I believe these are basics that sometimes we forget are important. Dont force or focus too much on the result but stay resilient with each step its takes to get the end.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am always looking to network but like for real lol. I think some people have a facade about the industry or do things differently than I do, which is great. I like people who are looking to make themselves better and grow with long term intentions and interests. Todays world is so stuck on being temporary, I want to collab to make greatness thats endlessly entertaining.
