We recently connected with Brook Choulet and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Brook, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
Self-care is a critical part of emotional and physical well-being. I prioritize my self-care, as I find it allows me to be more effective both personally and professionally. Taking care of my own needs enables me to be there for others. This focus on my own self-care has had a tremendous impact on my effectiveness, as I’m able to have a clear mind to work diligently and efficiently.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Choulet Wellness: Scottsdale Concierge Psychiatry & Therapy is a concierge mental health clinic in Scottsdale/Paradise Valley area. We provide psychiatry services (medication management), as well as therapy services. We strive to provide top-notch mental health care, taking into consideration the whole person, rather than focusing on diagnoses. I tremendously enjoy servicing our local community. I work with kids, adolescents, and adults of all ages and specialize in ADHD, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders. In addition, I have a special interest in working with professional athletes, as I currently work with the WNBA Phoenix Mercury and NBA Phoenix Suns.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Perseverance 2. Efficiency
3. Organization
Without the above three qualities, it would have been extraordinarily difficult for me to start and grow my private practice. It is never too late to begin to further develop these qualities and skills. It will serve you well in the long run!
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was emphasizing the importance of hard work and education. Without them and their support, I would not be where I am today.
