Meet Bryan Goltzman

We were lucky to catch up with Bryan Goltzman recently and have shared our conversation below.

Bryan, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
Building a business is challenging, and moments of doubt often lurk in the shadows like a silent specter, ready to pounce on our confidence. Yet, conquering imposter syndrome is like dispelling that shadow; it happens when we confidently step into our own truth and accept that our success comes from hard work, ingenuity, and drawing on the experiences you have had that have led to this moment.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
What we do at Liquid Screen Design is transform swag (or promotional products) into a powerful marketing tool. We specialize in crafting unique and innovative swag solutions that go beyond the typical branded items you see. What sets us apart is our commitment to helping businesses and organizations utilize swag strategically to achieve their goals. We’re not just about handing out stuff with logos; we’re about making every swag item a part of a carefully planned marketing strategy.

One of the most exciting aspects of our work is the creative process. We love coming up with fresh ideas and unique products that help our clients stand out and make a lasting impression. Not every unique idea has to break the bank either. One of my favorite creative uses was for a university who had a limited budget for incoming freshmen. In the end we created an eyeglass cleaner wipe that had the school map on it. Creating an item that was likely to be kept and used for a very inexpensive price point. Our team is all about pushing the boundaries of what swag can be, whether it’s custom swag boxes for virtual events or innovative ways to engage audiences.

What’s particularly special about Liquid Screen Design is our dedication to ensuring that every swag item serves a purpose and delivers measurable results. We offer a service called Strategic Swagging, where we sit down with clients to plan how to get the best return on investment from their swag. It’s not just about distributing items; it’s about making sure they have a meaningful impact on the target audience.

So, that’s a glimpse into what I’m passionate about professionally and what makes Liquid Screen Design special. It’s been an exciting journey, and I’m always eager to explore new ways to innovate and make swag an integral part of marketing and branding strategies.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
In the words of Jerry Garcia (paraphrased but with love), don’t just aim to be the best; aim to be the only ones doing what you do. Take the Grateful Dead, for instance, whether you’re a fan or not, you can’t deny they carved a unique path, and that’s what made them wildly successful.

Now, when I ponder my “long strange trip” and the wisdom I’d impart to those setting sail on their own adventures, it all boils down to three essential elements:

Adaptability – The Shape-Shifter: Think of adaptability as your superpower, your shape-shifter ability. Embrace change like an exhilarating plot twist. Each unexpected turn is your chance to become the hero or heroine of your story. So, flex those adaptability muscles, and let the journey shape you into something extraordinary.

Creativity – The Mad Scientist: Creativity is your inner mad scientist, concocting wild ideas and mixing up unconventional ingredients to craft something genuinely unique. For all you aspiring inventors, I say, let your imagination run wild. Seek inspiration from the quirkiest corners of life, collaborate with your fellow “mad scientists,” and never hesitate to experiment with the quirkiest of notions.

Strategic Thinking – The Mastermind: Picture strategic thinking as your grand mastermind plan, the perfect plot twist that leaves everyone in awe. If you’re embarking on your adventure, channel your inner detective. Grasp the broader picture, unravel the mysteries of your goals, and design a brilliant strategy to conquer them.

So, fellow adventurers, remember that what makes you different is your adaptability, creativity, and strategic thinking are your loyal companions on this epic journey. Embrace change, unleash your boundless imagination, and strategize like the mastermind you are. Your quest for success is destined to be a thrilling saga filled with unexpected twists and turns!

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
Any book can be looked at through a lens of business and development. I just finished reading “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”. Let’s turn this classic book into a business parable.

Absurdity in Innovation: Just as the travelers in the book navigate the absurdities of the universe, entrepreneurs encounter the surreal challenges of the business cosmos. Like Arthur Dent, who found himself suddenly hurtling through space, entrepreneurs often embark on their ventures with little more than a towel (a symbol of resourcefulness) to guide them. Embracing the absurdity of innovation is key; sometimes, the most unconventional ideas lead to the most remarkable success.

The Infinite Improbability Drive of Entrepreneurship: Picture your business as a spaceship powered by an “Infinite Improbability Drive.” In the business world, improbable events occur regularly. You may face setbacks, market shifts, and surprises that seem utterly implausible. Yet, just as the drive propels the ship through the strangest scenarios, embracing the unpredictable nature of business can lead to unexpected and exciting outcomes.

The Guide to Entrepreneurship: Much like the “Hitchhiker’s Guide” offers quirky advice on everything under the stars, our business guide provides entrepreneurs with unconventional wisdom. It reminds us that sometimes the most outlandish ideas and strategies can yield remarkable results. The lesson here is to not shy away from creativity and to be open to unconventional approaches in problem-solving.

Zany Characters in the Business Universe: In both the galaxy and the business world, you’ll encounter an array of zany characters. Some might seem as perplexing as Zaphod Beeblebrox with his two heads and penchant for the outrageous. Yet, it’s important to remember that diversity in perspectives can bring fresh ideas to the table and drive innovation.

In the cosmic journey of business, “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” can easily serve us with nuggets we can take and apply to our lives. It reminds us that entrepreneurship is an adventure filled with humor, absurdity, and unexpected twists. Embracing the absurdity of innovation, navigating the infinite improbabilities of business, seeking unconventional wisdom, and valuing the diversity of perspectives can lead to extraordinary success in the ever-expanding universe of entrepreneurship.

What are you reading right now? Can you take the lessons being learned by the main characters and apply them to your own business journey. I bet you can and with that insight start building what comes next for your own journey!
