Meet Caira Butler

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Caira Butler a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Caira with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My work ethic is motivated by God and my family. My faith in God is what movitates me to continue pursing my goals. Regardless of obstacles that come my way and the intrusive thoughts that cloud my judgment, I always remember in the Bible God says: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” This scripture helps me remember that my journey is in the hands of the One who knows it all, the man that has curated my path perfectly regardless of the ups and downs I face.

My work ethic is also inspired by my family. My mom is one of the most hardworking people I know. I remember being in class with her while she was in college, being in her workplace running up and down the halls, her managing three different stores effortlessly(in my eyes), and handling many different roles throughout her career so that she was able to provide for me. I will forever be grateful.

My family and friends are filled with entrepreneurs who are working tirelessly to achieve their goals and others that have worked endlessly to be where they are now all being fueled by their faith in God. It is truly a blessing to be surrounded by hardworking, motivating, and passionate world changers. Thank you to my family and friends for always being an inspiration to me no matter how big or small the accomplishment is. Seeing you achieve your goals and chase after your dreams is what keeps me going.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am Caira Butler, the founder and CEO of Beauté Debonair, an in-home salon services app. This will be Saint Louis’ go-to for luxury salon services offering hair, makeup, wardrobe styling, massage therapy, nails and skincare. Through the app, clients can book one of our services and a professional will arrive to their home, office, or hotel to receive a VIP experience in the comfort of their own space. When creating Beauté Debonair I knew I wanted to provide opportunities outside of the standard workplace to beauty, wellness, and fashion professionals. I also knew I wanted to give back to young men and women of the St. Louis community by providing a safe, fun, and educating space for them to grow. So far, my team has been able to work with companies including Kendra Scott, Girls Incorporated St. Louis, Neiman Marcus, and Clarice’s Bridal. These events have allowed professionals to work outside of their salon and give back to the community. We are in the process of planning more amazing events, and I want to highlight the extraordinary women on the BeautéDebonair Executive Team. I truly appreciate the hard work, time, and dedication these women have put towards a dream come true.

The BeautéDebonair Executives are:

Caira Butler – Founder & CEO
Brianna Morrow – Executive Hair Stylist & Secretary
Nyla Lewis – Executive Makeup Artist & CFO
Janay Mosley – Executive Massage Therapist
Tanisha Ward – Executive Event Planner

We are constantly looking for beauty, wellness, and fashion professionals who would like the opportunity to share their skills and passions to a wide audience while being in charge of their own schedules. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are leadership, teamwork, and patience. Being a leader means I provide inspiration, guidance, and challenge myself and my team to explore new things. Having the position of a leader can be intimidating because at times I feel nervous to make mistakes or allow others to see me fail. What I learned is, making mistakes and failing is a part of life. We have to learn from our experiences to grow and become a better version of ourselves. Secondly, teamwork is very important to progress your business to a new level. Working with a team that can understand each others strengths and weaknesses allows you to excel cohesively. Also, when collaborating with other professionals it allows your business to have access to a new audience which will lead to increased success. Lastly, when running a business you must have patience. It is easy to become discouraged when people aren’t purchasing items or utilizing your services. Depending on your business, there are numerous steps that should be taken to ensure you are providing a great customer experience and minimizing risks.
