We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Candace Bridges. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Candace below.

Candace , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Confidence and self-esteem can be developed through setting and achieving goals, recognizing and celebrating accomplishments, practicing positive self-talk, building competence, seeking support from others, taking care of oneself, and challenging self-limiting beliefs.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
As a dance and pole fitness instructor as well as the owner of a dance studio, I have the privilege of helping individuals build confidence and self-esteem through movement and self-expression. My studio provides a supportive and empowering environment where people can explore the art of dance and pole fitness while embracing their individuality.

What’s most exciting and special about what I do is witnessing the transformative power of dance and pole fitness in my students lives. We see individuals develop strength, grace, and confidence as they master new skills and express themselves creatively. It’s incredibly rewarding to be a part of their journey toward increased self-esteem and empowerment.

At my studio, I’m always looking for new ways to inspire and support the community. I’m excited to announce that I will be launching specialized workshops focusing on building confidence through dance and pole fitness. These workshops will provide a unique opportunity for individuals to enhance their self-esteem while honing their dance and fitness abilities.

I look forward to welcoming both new and returning students to my studio as I continue to provide a space where individuals can flourish, gain confidence, and embrace the joy of movement.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back on my journey as a dance and pole fitness instructor and studio owner, I believe that three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge have been most impactful are:

Passion and Dedication, Empathy and Communication and Business Acumen and Adaptability.

Having a deep passion for dance and pole fitness, as well as a dedicated work ethic, has been crucial to my journey. Developing strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and effective communication has been essential in connecting with students and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. Understanding the needs and aspirations of my students has allowed me to tailor my instruction and guidance to best serve them. Understanding the business aspects of running a studio, along with the ability to adapt to changes in the industry and market, has been vital to the success and growth of my studio. This includes marketing, financial management, and the ability to innovate and evolve with the needs of our community.

For those who are early in their journey, I would advise the following

Cultivate your passion, focus on communication and stay adaptable and open minded.

Invest time and effort in nurturing your passion for your craft. Prioritize developing strong communication skills and empathy. Listen to your students, understand their needs and concerns, and provide constructive feedback with compassion and understanding. Embrace change and stay open to new ideas, trends, and opportunities.

By focusing on these qualities and skills, individuals early in their journey can lay a strong foundation for growth, development, and success in the dance and fitness industry.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
In my journey as a dance and pole fitness instructor, as well as a dance studio owner, I have been incredibly fortunate to receive support and guidance from various sources that have been instrumental in helping me overcome challenges and develop the essential skills and qualities needed for success.

First and foremost, my family has been an unwavering source of encouragement and support. Their belief in my passion and dedication has been a constant source of strength, and their support has provided me with the foundation to pursue my dreams and navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship.

Additionally, my significant other has been a pillar of support, offering understanding, encouragement, and a listening ear during both the triumphs and trials of building and growing my studio. Their unwavering belief in me has been a source of inspiration and motivation.

Of course, I cannot understate the impact of my clients and students. Their trust, feedback, and loyalty have been invaluable in shaping my approach as an instructor and business owner. Their ongoing support and enthusiasm have continuously fueled my passion for teaching and have been essential in the growth of my studio.

Each of these individuals has played a unique and significant role in my journey, providing me with the encouragement, insight, and perspective that have been crucial in overcoming challenges and developing the skills and qualities necessary for success. Their unwavering support has been an essential part of my growth, and I am deeply grateful for their presence in my life.
