We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Candice Rasa. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Candice below.
Hi Candice, so happy you were able to devote some time to sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our community. So, we’ve always admired how you have seemingly never let nay-sayers or haters keep you down. Can you talk to us about how to persist despite the negative energy that so often is thrown at folks trying to do something special with their lives?
As a woman, first generation American, and someone who is interested in taboo topics, I’ve had to experience the resistance of others many times. Especially as a licensed therapist attempting to trail blaze a new modality in mystical arts, Akashic Records in the mental health field. I’ve been denied office space because of my work, had to change how I speak about my work in professional spaces, and cope with what it feels like to pull new things into being alone. For me, nay-sayers motivate me to ask curious questions about what is possible and how society uses projection to manage it’s own fears of diversity. When I’m seeing things from a non-personalization perspective, it helps me to pursue my goals without needing the acceptance of others. I think I arrived there through deep listening of my heart and trusting my inspiration to create things that matter in the world.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a LCSW, Buddhist psychotherapist, and trained Akashic Records Channel and teacher. I integrate Akashic Records in therapy with clients and teach people and healers how to read their own Akashic Record. I love the Akashic Records as an intervention in mental health because it allows people to engage deeper patterns such as ancestral trauma and past life karma from a place of empowered perspective-taking. When we can connect dots and ascertain a larger why in our lives, we experience new ways of being and seeing our pain.
I started my career in the addictions recovery industry as a therapist and eventual clinical director. I have over 16 year’s experience in working with clients from a place of deep suffering in helping them to make meaning and purpose. As humans, I believe we’re all in context to larger systems and experiences. It helps to understand the journey of that and why. I notice it’s helped me and the clients I serve redefine identity from a place of victimization to a place of medicine-maker. I have dedicated my life to creating awareness of the value of alternative spiritual interventions to client healing.
I’ve created a 4 part Akashic Training series to help people and other therapists use this work in their own lives and share it with others in need. People can learn to read the Akasha of themselves (Module 1), read the Akasha of ancient ancestors to clear family karma (Module 2), read for others in healing settings (Module 3), and read for land and businesses for way-showers who wish to use the energy field for more global action (Module 4). I believe in the work so much that I’m embarking on a formal research study looking at Akashic Records and mental health outcomes. Specifically, how Akashic sessions impact resiliency, connectedness and impact of anxiety, depression and stress symptoms. We would be the first ever to bring Akashic Records into the formal professional mental health industry. Our plan is to continue to raise awareness about the benefits of this modality.
I offer monthly free Akashic events through a community called The Rasa Healing Network, where we offer education, resources, events and trainings for spiritually hungry people. This community is free and open to all. We created this as a way to hold space for safe conversations about alternative healing modalities and empower others to connect on those themes.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Courage, vulnerability, and love.
I think it takes courage to follow your dream and believe in something that others don’t understand. I would say it helped me a lot to set boundaries with nay-sayers and engage others of like mind so that I could have safe spaces to explore myself. Find your people, they are out there!
Vulnerability is power. It’s okay to not know how to do something and to express fear. I think there’s a facade that people who do hard things aren’t scared. Ask for help more, talk about your fears, and don’t expect yourself to be perfect in order to try something daring.
Love is at the heart of everything I do. I always ask myself this question: will this thing I’m doing bring more love into the world and in my life? The answer has to be yes or else I won’t do it. Listening to your heart can be hard when the mind is in the way but my best advice is take time every day to really deepen a connection to what feels good vs what makes good sense.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am always looking to align with like-minded souls who also care about spiritual growth as a tool for healing. Especially those involved with mainstream healing industries. If you have a digital platform or community space where you have access to people interested in spiritual growth, I would love to connect. I want to talk to more people about our work and research in the Akashic Record. I’d love to offer education and exposure to Akashic Records. I believe in the power of community and I understand that relationships are necessary for the amplification of voices. I offer spaces in The Rasa Healing Network for other healers to network as well and so it feels mission-driven to connect souls in this way for me as well.
