We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Carlos Perez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Carlos, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose through realizing that I had something unique to offer the world. My confidence in my purpose grew as I saw the impact it was having in other people’s lives.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m the owner of Prime Vice Studios, LLC. We produce and help others develop artistic intellectual properties. It’s exciting to use creativity to empower ourselves in a sustainable way. What makes us special is that we are able to incorporate fun, innovation, ownership and community to do some good in the world.
PVS is currently open for business to anyone who seeks to develop their ideas, build their brand, or wants to learn how to grow as a creative. We currently do community workshops open to the public, have our comics on sale, which soon will be available digitally and seek to collaborate with compatible brands.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three qualities that were most impactful on my journey has been assertiveness, good character and being able to turn all obstacles into a form of progression or stepping stone.
To folks who are early in their journey my advice would be to be clear and honest with yourself as to why you want to accomplish anything or even go on some sort of journey. Having a set of personal guiding principles makes it easier to make difficult decisions as they inevitably surface during challenging times.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed I have learned to be still. In being still it gives me time to detach myself from those dominating feelings. It allows me to take inventory of why I’m feeling that way, what the cause(s) are and how I can deal with them in a healthy manner, like channeling them through one of my creative outlets.
