Meet Carmen Grayson

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Carmen Grayson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Carmen below.

Carmen, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
My confidence and self esteem go hand in hand. It was a risk. In order for me to put my fears to rest and pursuit my dreams and aspirations I needed to take the chance and go for it. As I took a step out in faith and enter the PR world my confidence and self esteem gradually followed and the more I pushed my self and challenged myself the more my confidence and self-esteem progressed and developed

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a publicist working with many different artists, entertainers and entrepreneurs. I am also a Brand and Marketing Strategist who partners with CEOs, executives, artists, Social Media Influencers, and solopreneurs to grow their personal and professional brands, human-to-human. Under Barbara Sanchez PR Firm, I am working with well-known celebrities; My forte is developing Press Kit and Media materials (both print and electronic – known as EPK’s, Electronic Press Kit well-known for their artistic managers (music/TV/Film). I love what I do. Working in promotions and doing PR for clients is a sense of gratification. I love being able to take someone’s vision and having it become reality. I am a personable individual and really take the time to get to know my clients and understand their visions. I am always strategizing how to develop compelling, newsworthy stories that will help garner positive media coverage for clients. I believe that as a Publicist that stands out among the rest; one must use PR as a powerful tool for developing a strong reputation in the industry. I make it my goal to ensure my clients reach their goals and get their brand the media recognition they deserve. I will put in long hours days and nights to ensure this happens.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I will put in long hours days and nights to ensure this happens. 3 skills that have had a positive impact on my journey have been, communication, being creative and being resourceful. These 3 things have kept me booked and busy! My advice to anyone entering this industry is to not give up. Even if 50 doors shut on you find another door or another way to get thru the door.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am a huge supporter of women in the industry, I am looking to work with new women in the industry to work with and support. I was once a mentee for Barbara Sanchez of Elegant PR and would love to mentor any new women who are entering the Hollywood industry. Women must support other women in the industry. It creates good morale.  It is a beautiful thing to see other women in the same industry supporting each other and reaching their accolades.
