Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Carol Linnee. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Carol, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
As a child, I have always had a strong passion for animals. From rescuing turtles with my father as a child, to working at various animal hospitals while receiving my bachelor degree of Biology at Grand Valley State University, animals have remained close to my heart.
One thing that has always been inspiring to me was the training and patience that go into therapy animals and how much of an impact it truly has on a child. I wanted to make a dream into a reality and touch the hearts of children with the accompany of animals.
Due to some circumstances in life sometimes we go through trauma. I, myself is a survivor of trauma and I want to let all children especially ones who have been through traumatic experiences know that they are not alone, they are loved, they have value and worth, they are cared for and supported through their journey, and that they are strong.
This is where I came up with Carol Linnee’s Critters. These eight fun critters have their own unique story to tell and one thing they all have in common is that their care and love for one another pulls them through their hard times. We have Ace, the male pit bull puppy; Tabitha, the female tabby kitten; Wolfie, the male wolf pup; Layla, the female leopard cub; Gideon, the male gator; Bailey, the female bat; Frankie, the female owl, and Slim, the male snake. Carol Linnee’s Critters will be a supportive friend, family member to every child in need. Together we will make a difference.
Many children that experience traumatic injuries often leave the hospital with no clothing to wear home. Some parents don’t have funds for new clothing for their children, so many times they leave the hospital in the same bloody torn clothing.
Carol Linnee’s Critters supply new clothing to children’s hospitals and urgent cares across Metro Detroit. Our volunteers will not only distribute clothing, but will also visit the children along with therapy animals to deliver each child with a stuffed animal toy to represent our care, love, and support.
Our mission is to bring awareness to all that love binds us together. No matter our differences, our love for one another will pull us through. We are stronger together and here to make a difference.
Our vision is friends become family, their unconditional love and loyalty bring them together in harmony, changing the world together.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most important qualities for myself are passion and commitment, strategic leadership and management, and fundraising with community engagement.
Passion and commitment.
My strong passion to make a difference to children and animals drove me to establish Carol Linnee’s Critters and to keep evolving the organization. Myself and my team, dedicate our time, energy, and resources everyday towards achieving the organization’s mission. We are overly committed and have a strong belief in our cause. This allows us to navigate challenges and sustain motivation in the face of obstacles.
Strategic leadership and management.
As the CEO and Founder effective leadership and management are crucial for the success of Carol Linnee’s Critters. Strategic planning, financial management, team building, and decision making is very important to our team. Our good management allows us to ensure efficient allocation of our resources, effective operations and communication within our organization and public.
Fundraising with community engagement.
Fundraising strategies, grant writing, and donor relationships are key to securing necessary funds to support Carol Linnee’s Critters. We have a strong passion to build strong relationships within the communities and our donors. Ensuring the reach and impact of our organization will allow us the opportunity to make a difference for more children in need.
My advice to folks in their early points of their journey would be to not get discourage, be flexible to change, and always keep going.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
At Carol Linnee’s Critters we would love to collaborate with others. Spreading the word is always helpful and greatly appreciated. We are always looking for volunteers, fundraisers, communities to give back to, children’s hospitals to donate to, and children everywhere to impact. Let’s make a difference together. If you or you know of a business/individual that would be interested in supporting our mission and would like to collaborate with us; please contact us at info@carollinneescritters.com or www.CarolLinneesCritters.com
