Meet Carolina Galindo

We recently connected with Carolina Galindo and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Carolina , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I had been a full-time mom for a few years and I was looking to feel more productive. Even though I enjoyed it, I did not want to be only a housewife and a full-time mom. With the aim of not neglecting my children and to continue being part of their day-to-day life as well as taking care of them, I began the business. All it had taken was a search in making my daughters first birthday more fun. I soon felt that without postponing my desire to be a mother and to begin to feel fuller as a person, as a woman, I had found my purpose.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I currently live in South San Diego. I am married and have two beautiful children, Alfonso and Regina. I am originally from Guanajuato, Mexico where I obtained a degree in marketing, which was of great use when we began our business. Our story as a small business began in September 2018, when I was planning my daughter’s first birthday.

Sunshine Softplay has the perfect set up to keep young children entertained and we can deliver it to your next party. We specialize in providing the equipment so that kids can really enjoy their first, second or third birthday. We can deliver to any social event where young children need to be entertained and can set up a play area indoor or outdoor, in your house or at the park. We can transform a garage into a magical playzone. What sets us apart is our commitment to provide a clean and engaging playarea at a reasonable price.

We are proud to truly be a family business; with the help from my husband and the inspiration from our children, we are proud to provide parents of small children the confidence in our services and values

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back now, three things that have made an impact in our journey have been; communication skills, empathy and teamwork.

It is important to have communication skills because it is the way we give our client confidence. When requesting information about our services, it is our communication and our treatment that shows them we are their best option. Communication is key before, during and at the end of our service.

Empathy is what helps us understand the needs of our clients and better serve them.

Teamwork is very important.
The Sunshine Softplay team is made up of my husband, my in-laws and myself. We each play an important role, from communicating with clients to taking care of our two children. Working as a team allows a smoother operation and better service.

I can only mention that in every business or venture, there will be countless number of situations that will be faced. Many will require a quick search for a solution to get ahead. Have a passion for what you are doing, being a problem solver and having empathy will help you become a successful entrepreneur.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
We have improved over time in aspects of customer service, we are always improving the pieces of our SoftPlay, a couple of months ago we included a new Area in Neutral colors, most of our customers have been asking for it, we are learning all the time How to improve our business to be the best option for our client
