Meet Caroline Useh

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Caroline Useh. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Caroline , so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
First I’m always reminded by why I started, this helps keep me in check whenever I encounter any challenge.

In my down times, I’ll always call on my friends of like minds in career to share my changes with them just to be motivated and they always doing justice to it each time I come to them.

I have never underestimated the act of consistency and persistency this has helped me in the course of my practice

I always try to engage my mind to try being in new ideas to my work on every piece. This has sped up my growth. I always research and learn from other peoples creative works that are in line with mine as it helps open up my brain to inculcate new approach and techniques to my works for impressive result?

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Artistic career

I’m a mixed media artist and my works are inspired by the random objects around us.

The most exciting part of my practice is not knowing what the different objects I’ll put together would look like but I still do it anyways and the results are always mind blowing because consistency has helped me in the course of my practice.

A motivation that has kept me in check all along is the appreciation I get from my audience each time I put out my works for a show, the engagement between the hung piece and the viewer as I can sometimes feel the question that could be going through their minds, this gives me an amount of fulfillment and the eagerness to press on creating.

I want the world to see creativity from diverse angle through my works exploring these objects that are being trashed randomly.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
First and most importantly is the intellectual level of friends that I have, as they would always push on to learning more non stop.

The thirst for learning new techniques and trying out what’s out of the usual, and mingling with colleagues with a longer duration of experience in the career and how they’re able to stand test of time. Learning from collective ideas as I don’t In the strength of collective opinions.

I always urge younger creatives to focus on consistency on a path.
Choose that one path and build on it consistently undermining what time it will pay off.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
