Meet Carolyn Jaynes, M.A.

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Carolyn Jaynes, M.A.. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Carolyn below.

Carolyn, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I always thought I had to work very hard, long, and unhappily to move forward in life. I was told by society that to “fit in” I needed to get a graduate degree which only added to my stress load. I was a burned-out licensed social worker when I overheard a music entertainer singing to a senior group at the nursing home where I worked. He sounded terrible. I amused myself by thinking, My God, those poor people. Luckily, some of them are hard of hearing. Even I can do better than that!” It was a mere thought that I could sing and do a better show for the seniors who deserved a lot more than they were getting.

Our thoughts are powerful. I already had a professional karaoke music entertainment system at home so I began practicing songs I knew the seniors would like, to uplift and inspire them. As I booked myself at senior communities, I fine-tuned the show to just the songs they responded well to and sang along with. After a few years, the show was a hit! I could book myself anywhere in a city big enough to have plenty of senior housing. That part time career was an example of me following my bliss.

23 years later, I performed solo over a thousand times at hundreds of venues. I still worked part time at many other places, but singing was the most fun. How many jobs do you get to hear applause and praise when you are finished for the day?

I found I also love teaching and writing. By the time I earned my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology to be a psychotherapist, I no longer wanted to be one! I was being guided instead to write books and I went for it, even though I knew nothing about publishing. The Universe must have heard me because mentoring writers, editors, and publishing seminars came out of the writer’s woodwork. It was amazing how I got all the help I needed to become.

When I couldn’t interest a literary agent (to get a publisher,) I went ahead and published it myself. I’m so glad I did. I then had creative control of my own work, and I didn’t have to share the royalties. I never dreamed I would write more than one book. But now nine years later, I’ve written four books of short story collections. I shared my spiritual awakening process with true spiritual adventure stories and became a spirit medium in the process.

None of this was revealed to me until I was ready. I had to believe in myself and have faith. Everything I needed came to me as if by magic. That is how the Law of Attraction works for manifesting what we want. If you have a dream, follow it. If you love what you do, you won’t really have to work that hard. It will feel more like play, or something totally absorbing for the talents and skills you have. You don’t have to play by society’s rules. We all have a sacred calling, a mission, a purpose. Meditate and ask for guidance. It will come. Be patient and KNOW that what you want IS possible.
.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My books are full of tantalizing true stories that will uplift and inspire you to look deeper at your own life. Sprinkles from Heaven – Stories of Serendipity is the first book in the series, it’s the one I recommend reading first. It’s about miracles and manifesting and receiving spiritual guidance to take risks. There is even a story about reunited soul mates called The Cosmic Connection.

The 2nd book is Twinkles from Heaven – The Mystical in the Mundane. This inspirational book delves deeper into precognitive dreams, reincarnation, past lives, warnings, and using spiritual power for good in the world. It has a love story with a happy ending.

Ripples of Faith – Living Inside Out is the third book that starts in San Diego, then moves to Albuquerque, where I see my first ghost, to Minnesota where I got dumped, and then to my life-long dream, Hawaii. It highlights personal healing and connecting with loved ones in spirit, as well as more miracles.

The 4th book is Whispers of Spirit – A Medium’s Journey. This book is mind-blowing and starts off with a bang, dating a secret psychopath, emerging victorious, and moving on to help others with the spiritual gifts I developed. You too have special gifts to share with this world and we need you to be you.

I have begun my fifth book with my QHHT session (Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique) and I share my compelling past lives as a male lumberjack, a dairy farmer, and even a good witch! My dear friend Holly in this life was also my brother in that life. No title on this one yet – my books get their titles once they are completed. It, too, will be on Amazon.

I hope you will read Sprinkles from Heaven first so you can witness the fascinating progression of one person’s spiritual awakening. Many people have already evolved into the 5th Dimension. You can, too, if you haven’t already! All books are available in softcover, e-book and audio book formats.

Events and classes can be found on www.CarolynJaynes.com and I’m happy to hear from you at: CarolynJaynesAuthor@gmail.com. I currently live in my RV under the redwood trees in Northern California, with my precious Persian pussycat, Princess.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Go with the flow and please don’t hold too rigidly to one set of your goals. Source may have other plans for you, even better than you can imagine right now, so stay open-minded, teachable, and flexible. Things change quickly.

Follow your bliss and do what you love. You are here for an important reason. Use your gut instinct (intuition) and seek guidance from within. All the great religions tell us to meditate for our answers. You will find them on the inner planes, not out in this 3D world.

Take risks and don’t be afraid to fail. It’s just a learning experience, another stepping-stone. You will fall along the way. We all do! It teaches us what’s for us and what isn’t. If you’re miserable, that is NOT for you. If you are happy, fulfilled, and at peace, then it is for you. So simple, isn’t it? Follow your own happiness.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When I feel overwhelmed, I start with one small thing. Emphasis on one. If I need to unclutter, I start with one drawer. If I’m writing a book, I start with one story, or even one sentence or just the title.

If I’m doing taxes, I start with 15 minutes which often leads to longer.

My overactive creative mind wants to jump to many ideas at once. It’s like this, me talking to myself: Let’s Paint! Wait, lets write another story. But I feel like making cinnamon raisin bread in my bread machine now. Oh, I better go clean the cat box. Where are my roller-skates? What’s for dinner?

My planner looks like a detailed to-do list that can get overwhelming, especially if I’ve been watching too much Tubi TV and procrastinating! When I was younger, I often did three different events per day, something in the morning, afternoon and evening. I don’t stress myself like that anymore. I make one appointment per day now. I’m 62 so I take my time to breathe deeply, to relax, sip my decaf, pet my cat. I take breaks to rest and dream.

Nothing is urgent. Nothing is fatal, not even death! And most of all, nothing is worth trading my peace for.
